Barry Winslow began his singing career in 1965 at the age of 17 with the band, The Royal Guardsman. Their hit song, "Snoopy vs the Red Baron" won them a gold record and "Snoopy's Christmas" went platinum. These were mega hits and took the group all over the country. An updated version is "Snoopy vs Osama" which has received a lot of playing time on stations across America. The band was together from 1965 to 1970. They've played with bands like, Sam The Sham, Tommy James & The Shondell's, Lobo, The Who, The Beach Boys, the Commodores, and others.
They regrouped in 1975 to do the club circuit and Barry left the band in 1978.
In 1985, Barry began to get seriously involved with his song writing and became acquainted with Aaron Brown in Nashville. He submitted several songs for Aaron's new children's project. The " I. L.O.V.E. Y.O.U." cut performed by Christian artist, Tonya Goodman Sykes, was selected for the "Child's Gift of Lullabies" project. The song is enjoying much success and earned a platinum record for Barry.
Barry really enjoyed songwriting but knew he wanted more. Something was missing. In 1992, he found fulfillment when he gave his life to the Lord and, with God's inspiration, he began writing and singing songs of praise. His first effort, "Transition," met with great en¬thusiasm, fueling his passion for Christian music. In 1997, he moved to Missouri where he has continued dedicating his life to praising Jesus in his walk and in his music. With many prayers answered, he and his wife, Teena, now minister together. They have performed on TBN, TCT and 100 Huntly Street TV shows with ever-increasing requests for them to sing at churches all across America.
Barry and Teena treasure the anointing God has placed upon them. That anointing comes through in their ministry with the songs the Lord has birthed into their spirit.

Well, looks like The Royal Guardsmen will be playing a fan concert in England...Jan 2009. It will be on the Isle Of Wright. We're sure excited about it....never got to go to England back when we were chasing records....we were booked too hard in the states.
The biggest thing for me is we'll be playing one of my CCM songs.
I'll post pics as soon as I can.
Blessings

You are such a blessing girl. I pray everyone is doing well.
This is why I love doing His music Christina. I don't have words to describe how it feels to hear news like this. But we know it is all about God, and how He will truly use a Yielded Vessel. I could never thank Him enough for calling me.
You guys have a safe and blessed 4th. Hope to see you all again soon.
Again, thanks. It's appreciated deeply.
