The old adage ‘good things come in small packages’ couldn’t be more true in describing Alyssa Atherton. Her vocals pack a punch with her eclectic take on rock/pop. With Alyssa’s first studio recording she keeps the style her own yet delivers her music with the confidence to project a sound that is both unique and edgy. She embraces a new spin on the rocker look with a barely discernable patina of glamour that definitely says “Alyssa has arrived”. Growing up, she loved to sing for hours mimicking the performances of her favorite recording artists. Alyssa made a recording of some of her favorite songs as a gift to her parents at a neighbor’s recording studio at the age of ten. She was told she should consider pursuing a singing career. Encouraged by such positive comments, Alyssa has made developing her voice a priority. Alyssa worked with Matt Kirkwold of World Record Productions (Quietdrive, Lucky boys Confusion) to produce her self-titled recording debut as a singer/songwriter. She has an impeccable work ethic that has gained her the respect usually reserved for an older and more established artist. Alyssa has opened for Bowling for Soup, won an Indie up-and-coming artist award at BroadJam and a runner-up best female solo artist for Music Aid International Music Awards 2006. Alyssa’s emergence on BroadJam’s Top Ten for months running has proven her lasting appeal. She has been rewarded with a fan base that is rapidly expanding. Alyssa's song "Spinning" was recently licensed to be used in upcoming episodes of MTV's My Super Sweet 16.
Also MTV the Hills used all 3 songs, and MTV Real World Sydney usded Who I Am. Recently Alyssa was nominated for 2 Best Female Pop Vocals for the 2007 LA Music Awards. Alyssa also won for best song and vocals for American Idol Underground in the rock genre for Who I Am. Alyssa's songs have played on MTV..the Hills, Real World etc..Alyssa’s appeal and talent would be an asset for a major label in her genre of rock/pop.
