Now in the studio recording while playing in and around Los Angeles, CA. Adjoa is a natural beauty that is not afraid to challenge the status quo! Get excited for something real GOOD! Dedicated to people first and then to music, this musician's child never leaves her pop roots far behind even though she's worked with many international musicians after spending years living in Africa. She wrote, recorded, produced and played on her first album "Playtime" in Capetown South Africa under her birth name, Emily R. Skinner. It was after helping pioneer a music school in Ghana, West Africa that she was given the nick name Adjoa. Feeling indebted to the Africans who taught her so much about life she carries the name with pride and continues to help finance and support the school in West Africa.

Heavily influenced by Ella Fitzgerald, Sting and Joni Mitchell she also shows hints of Eva Cassidy and India Arie with a lil Sheryl Crow thrown in every once in a while! A female Jeff Buckley. She's got some mad soul!
