The Vox Jaguars are 4 powerful performers seeking to make a dent as the new rock and roll revolution. Coming from Santa Cruz, California with a sound like a tight fury of raw energy, this band of youthful individuals stray away from the laid back Santa Cruz vibe.
It all started in 2006 with packed shows in coffee shops and house parties, but after a year or so The Vox Jaguars became serious. Touring to southern California and up to portland playing shows for the people of the westcoast. Writing about love, the hardships of teenage existence, and having a good time the songs are relatable and easy to dance to. With unique vocals, slapping basslines, gorgeous guitar riffs, and swift drums that make you want to get up and shake the band writes songs full of lush imagry and heart.
In March of 2008 The Vox Jaguars recorded their self-titled EP with producer Ariel Reichtshaid (We Are Scientists, Cass McCombs, Plain White T's, and his band Foreign Born) to be released on Kansas City Label Anodyne Records (home to The Meat Puppets and The Bellrays) on February 10th, 2009. Since recording the EP the experience has rubbed off in their live shows. The Jaguars put on one of the newest and most riveting performances in the bay area and Santa Cruz. Having played alongside The Fiery Furnaces, Grand Ole Party, Big Brother & The Holding Company, Scissors For Lefty, Sleepy Sun, Mammatus, Giraffes? Giraffes!, The Botticellis, Voxhaul Broadcast, Indian Jewelry, and Jaguar Love. The Vox Jaguars play a unique form of garage/indie-rock.
