Biography:The Josh and Pete Band mix late period British 60s pop not unlike The Zombies' 'odyssey and oracle' or The Kinks' 'village green preservation society' with a quirky American Showtune esthetic, crafting fun, energetic pop tunes.
Josh and Pete started their band in 2000 during their eighth grade lunch period. After trying out band names such as "The Narcoleptic Jumping Chameleons" and "Three Surgeons and a Priest" they settled on "The Josh and Pete Band".
Going off to college they took a short break but recently reformed their band. They teamed up with their high school buddy Alon Hafri to create a full team of creative renaissance men.
The Josh and Pete Band started developing a concept album in 2007 about a bored Captain marooned on an island, forced to explore a strange town called "Slimey Time". Along the way he explores his insanity and encounters strange people such as Cecil P. Jones (The mildly rudest man in the land) and Lily Kwiquineezy (Ms. Slimey Time.) He comes to terms with himself and sails away finding peace.
They started playing out to the public in the fall of 2008, gaining quick attention from the press. They have played many venues including World Cafe live, The Fire, The North Star Bar Mill Creek Tavern, and the M Room and many others.
Their Classic Rock influences mixed with a seriously silly undertone, creates a diverse and enthusiastic sound. An eclectic musical experiment sure to inspire you to dance.
They are highly influenced by The Beatles, The Beach Boys, Queen, The Zombies, A Cappella, The Marx Brothers and Nickelodeon
