The Hot Button Headlines the Nestor
When it comes to the future of the Fargo-Moorhead Rock scene, The Hot Button, August Neverends and Go Steve Jones are three of the brightest hopes there could possibly be. All three bands bring a unique sound and an ambitious approach to their craft. The Hot Button, featuring former members of The Legionnaires and Necktie Suicide, a mix I for one never thought would happen, bring a Toadie's Esque feel to their songs, though Guitarist/frontman Dann Keller still adds a dose of amped up Country to the sound. August Neverends has emerged from nowhere the past few months and absolutley blown everyone who has caught them live away. With a modern rock sound, minus the screamo style that has infected 90% of modern rock bands, August Neverends brings not only top notch musicianship, but the ability to write songs that stand out from what is usually pumped into the Rock community. And last but not least, Go Steve Jones, flat out rock. This is what Hard Rock should be, Fun with a side of attitude and some of the most memorable Guitar riffs Fargo-Moorhead have seen in a long time. All in all, this Friday at the Nestor will showcase not only some of the best in the new Rock scene, but a it will be a chance to see three of the bands that will rule the genre locally for a long time to come.
