The artist Ridgley Makins was born to put soul back in to music. So much of what we hear in the music industry today is so watered down, that in most cases it would have been better for those artist, to go into another line of work all together. The world is in need of new hope and Ridgley feels it is his duty to resurrect the soul of music and put the spiritual essence of God’s gift to the poor, desperate and oppressed back on track . His offering to God and the people of God is a body of work titled The Book of Secrets. The Book of Secrets is a collection of songs written by Ridgley Makins to inspire people to reach for what’s best in ourselves and to show the world that everyone can do something to help make our world a better place to live . The topics range from love to war done with an edginess’ that could only be thought of by a man like Ridgley. A native of Washington D.C. Ridgley has had a chance to see life in ways that could not be into words. So he has given us song and, I think he may just hit his mark, with his sometimes clumsy but direct approach he just might have what it takes to turn the industry on it head.
