Formed in 2003, Beau Powell & Chelsea Kerwath began touring Virginia and the Outer Banks of North Carolina as an acoustic duo- eventually playing enough to quit their jobs and go full-time with music. They met at The Watermelon Festival in Carytown, fell in love instantly-- and got married this past May. In 2004, OminOtagO recorded their first cd, "White Buffalo" in Beau's dad's garage. Soon after, OminOtagO hired a bassist and drummer to record the new album, "A Minute Ago" over the span of a couple hard years. Matty Volkes & Stu Hutton's musical contributions added much depth and dynamics to their recordings, but they eventually moved on to bands better suited for their styles (Check out People's Blues of Richmond & Barrelhouse).
