nate.3.0 (born Nathan William Runkel) is an amature singer/songwriter/screenwriter/photographer who has spent his lifetime in a never ending pursuit to entertain others. Since the age of 15, nate has wowed audiences with his acoustic blend of folk, pop, rock, R&B and hip hop. With influences ranging from fellow Philly native, G. Love, to the dusty voice of Jeff Tweedy, through to the poetic MC stylings of Common, nate.3.0 has woven this web of inspiration that has birthed the sound that he performs day in and day out.
As an original member of The Swinging Cannons, nate.3.0 began finding himself as a performer. In the winter of 1999, gollowing the break up of the Cannons, nate formed the destructive force known as The Impact Players with Randy Major (of Lost in Paris fame). The duo took Western Pennsylvania by storm, leaving no fan un-rocked. In their seven years together, the IP may have only released two albums, but their impact (pun intended) is still reverberating around the local music scene.
Currently, nate.3.0 has been trying his hand at the solo game, honing his craft at open mics throughout the greater Philadelphia area, including one he hosts at Tex Mex Connection the first and third Thursday of every month, and one he hosts at the Peanut Gallery Acoustic Cafe in Norristown. He is also preparing to re-enter the studio to begin work on his debut album.
