Whether it's with their high energy, blow the roof off rock show, or stripped down, intimate acoustic sets, Merrill has been winning over a legion of fans with their emotionally charged music since 2006.
The band consists of singer/songwriter/guitarist Chris Merrill, former Hank Williams III guitarist Justin Defreece, and former Steelheart and Tommy Tutone drummer Joe Gardner to bring you music that manages a soulful past with a blend of rhythm and rock to form a sound that transcends categories.
Merrill has opened for such bands as Maroon 5, Counting Crows, and Augustana. They also made it to the second round of the Bodog National Battle of the Bands contest in 2006 before they had to bow out because they lost their bass player to injury. In addition, they were selected to play the 2007 Bumbershoot Music Festival playing with such acts as Crowded House, The Shins, Gym Class Heroes, and Panic at the Disco. And the band is blowing up the radio having received regional airplay for their song "The One Thing".
Though the band is often touring, the group's roots are in Portland, Oregon.
Merrill released their debut album, "Evolutions" in September of 2008.
