Mind under Music
Past, Present, Future
Fans of forward-thinking folk-pop will get one more chance to catch Bay Area folk singer Julie Larson when she plays the last of four area shows at Borders Books in Elk Grove. With a clear voice, sassy lyrics and a penchant for chimes, flutes and the harmonica, Larson draws parallels to such standard bearers of folk as Joni Mitchell and Joan Baez as well as more recent, modern and harder-edged sounds of Liz Phair and Ani DiFranco.
Larson, a multi-instrumentalist who's studied with the likes of Dave Burns, Arnie Lawrence and Bud Johnson, will perform music from her debut CD "Apotheosis"...
