Josh Klein was born and raised in Rockville, MD. At the early age of 7, he married music after getting it pregnant behind a dumpster. He found himself studying with the greats of the Baltimore and DC scene, including John Zahn, Walt Johns, Rob Macomber and Paul Wingo. Josh played in every band he could find, and after playing everywhere he could in his home state, decided to move on to the fine city of Chicago, where he attended DePaul University and studied under Mark Maxwell and Bob Palmieri. Becoming more interested in modern music, Josh decided to transfer to a more suitable school for his tastes. A year later, Josh had formed The StickBottle Band, featuring his home-town friends, but was also confronted with his own personal goals of completing his degree. He then set himself a higher goal: to finish his degree from Berklee College of Music, while also forming connections to further The StickBottle Band. And at first, things went well. Josh excelled in all his classes with little effort, and studied with the greatest players and educators including Mick Goodrick, Dave Fiuczinski and Dave Tronzo. All spare time was either spent writing and recording new material (with Josh playing all instruments), or jamming and recording with other students. In fact so much was recorded, that it still hasn't all been edited, and that was 2005! In 2008, Josh Klein & The StickBottle Band released their debut album, "StickBottle" featuring the original StickBottle Band line-up. By the next year, the line-up began changing due to different personal issues, but through it all, Josh has continued to write, play and shred. The next year or so is to be spent in editing and releasing all JK&SBB materials available to the public. Josh Klein & The StickBottle Band are now available on iTunes and Amazon.com, and coming soon to both online stores will be the previously unreleased Josh Klein & Friends recordings.meet good people along the way. Four separate albums of improvised work come from JK&F, which will soon be made available on iTunes and Amazon.
