Biography

Born into a musical household in Floyd, New York, Jonathan Coleman became his fathers music "partner" at the age of five. Since then his father, Paul Coleman Sr., has been a strong influence in Jonathan's life as a musician. In July 2007 Jonathan had the opportunity to record along side his father "Man That's Livin' " a song written by Paul Coleman Sr. and Jeff Hebert on his most recent CD self-titled - Jonathan Coleman.
After a short musical hiatus Jonathan discovered his passion for music again in the spring of 1999 while attending Herkimer Community College in Herkimer, New York. Focusing on a degree in accounting, Jonathan found solace in playing guitar and writing music. Jonathan started perusing the open mic scene playing a mixture of covers and his originals. Because of the response to his original material during open mic nights at the Fireside Lounge in Rome, New York Jonathan decided that it was more than just a dream to become a musician, it was what he wanted his profession to be. "I like having a positive effect on people with my music," says Jonathan "and writing and performing music is a calming experience for me as well".
Jonathan's most recent CD self-titled "Jonathan Coleman", released in 2008 was the result of a music contest he entered in May of 2007 - The Central NewYork Top Singer Contest. One of the prizes offered was the opportunity to record a CD at JA Castle Studios, in Utica New York. Some of Jonathan's most requested songs listed on the CD are the "Cell Phone Song", "64" and "Daughter".
