Okay, so here’s a quick background....I was born and raised in Orange, Ca....started singing when I started talking...my dad was a police officer and my mom was an executive for the phone company....I have two brothers who still love to tease me. I lost my dad when I was thirteen. I was very close to him. I started writing to ease the pain of that loss. The writing eventually turned from poems to something that resembled songs (somewhat:)....After graduation, I planned on attending Belmont University in TN....I didn’t go because I didn’t know anyone....I was afraid...I could kick myself now! So I went to junior college, taking classes here and there, bartending, waitressing, and singing every night wherever I could to whoever cared to listen....open mics, smokey bars, karaoke, weddings....whatever....I kept writing, singing, hoping and praying that someday I’d be able to spend all my time doing my own music instead of someone else’s. I got married before finishing college and 10 months later, had my first daughter. Three days later, she had her first seizure followed by multiple diagnosis as the years passed. Almost two years later, her sister was born with the same problems and was later diagnosed with autism. Between the doctors visits, debt, and taking care of two little ones still in diapers, singing was definitely put on the back burner...but I kept writing. One morning before breakfast, my daughter was bowing her head to say her prayers before she ate her cereal and a song popped into my head....I wrote it down on a napkin in five minutes....It was the song "Are You Watching Me Now"....everyone loved it, so I demoed it and a few months later, my husband took to Nashville and by "chance" got played on WSM650! We moved out to Nashville two years later and thus began the process of finding others who would teach me more about acheive my musical aspirations. God opened a lot of doors, closed others and led me on this amazing journey that led me to "No Regrets". It’s been an amazing ride so far and the best part about it is that I never know what’s coming next...but there’s always a song somewhere in it all.....so keep visiting and hopefully I’ll have more up soon to share with you....until then....be blessed.....

P.S. Here’s a little more info about "No Regrets"....
My very first "single" (Are You Watching Me Now...written about my dad) got airplay on WSM650 in 2003 and 2004 which in turn, prompted my move to Nashville.
Since then, I’ve had the amazing opportunity to meet some very gifted songwriters (Michael Higgins, Evie Claussen, Jimi Heath, Tammy Pierce, and Joshua Adams to name a few) and a great producer /co-writer (Mark Oliverius) which led to the release of my first full length cd "No Regrets" this past Summer
Several of the songs on "No Regrets" have topped the charts on such websites as Garageband.com, idolunderground.com, and myspace.com to name a few. A few months ago, I was also invited to be the Featured Country Artist on Faithitup.com!!! And more recently have been added to CMT.com and GA
Currently, "No Regrets", is available for download on itunes.com, myspace.com/jaynenelsen and for sale at

I can’t express enough how thankful I am to have been able to do what I love and meet so many wonderful people who love music as much as I do.
