Eric Klotz has been playing the guitar for 20 years. He began learning his favorite rock and metal songs as a kid and took lessons from a guitarist who taught him basic music theory. In college at Minnesota State University Moorhead, he began studying jazz with Glenn Ginn, a graduate of the University of North Texas, and attained his masters with Dan Phillips, a graduate of Berklee College of Music and Northwestern University.
Eric has been fortunate to teach and perform in a variety of settings. His teaching experience includes eight years as a professional instructor through various music stores, five years as Adjunct Guitar Instructor at Minnesota State University, and six years as the jazz guitar instructor at the International Music Camp. He has performed in jazz groups of all sizes, rock/funk/R&B groups ranging from four members to twelve, theater productions, recording sessions, and as a classical guitarist. He currently resides in Chicago where he leads the Eric Klotz Trio.
