About Drop Dead For Vegas

Drop Dead for Vegas is the unruly brain-child of Christoph Mueller. Born in Hamburg, Germany in 1969 into abject poverty, Mueller was the youngest in a family of 9 children. As a boy, Mueller reportedly suffered from multiple learning disabilities and was a rampant chronic bed-wetter until the age of 16, when he joined the Peace Corps by lying about his age. After 6 months, he returned to Hamburg and attempted to finish his schooling. It was about this time that met Gunter Heilmann, a local street performer and guitarist who taught Mueller to play some basic guitar. It wasn’t long before the duo was performing together as The LederHoseMen, mostly playing in local art bars and coffee houses. Just as the two were beginning to get some attention outside Hamburg, Heilmann suddenly died under what are still considered to be mysterious circumstances. Although Mueller has since denied it, just before Heilmann’s death, the two were rumored to be at odds over certain creative aspects of the duo’s stage act; Mueller repeatedly insisted on setting his beard on fire during one of Heilmann’s better solos. Although the official medical examiner’s report stated the Heilmann died of a sever asthma attack brought on by smoke produced from burning beard hair, those closest to him believe he was kicked to death by Mueller, who often wore metal-toed cowboy boots. Mueller currently performs under the pseudonym, Drop Dead for Vegas and resides in Nashville, TN where he enjoys riding his lawn tractor.
