born and raised in la,ca. inspired by the streets. musical influences range from algreen,marvin gaye, george clinton and parliment funkadelic to dave hollister, blackstreet, john ledgen and everything soulful.
Dontwon started off singing in church choir as a child. as a teenager he fourmed a singing group called touch of soul. he went on to further his carrer by signing with blackground records in 2000. blackground records was lead at the time by world renoun singer alyiah who died shortly after in a plane crash.
Dontwon has also worked with other rappers and singers including w.c from the group west side connection in witch he features on a song called fo all ya'll on the exit wounds soundtrack.
Dontwon has also featured on C-bo album entitled life as a rider in 1999 the song is called let me ride.
dontwon has written over 300 songs including a song for the late great gerald levert entitled "open my arms". dontwon is destine to be one of the worlds greatest soul singers.
