Born in Jackson, Ms and raised by the streets of Cleveland, OH DJ Jack Da Rippa (Derrick Davis) has that pure unique blend of east coast hiphop with the heart and soul of the south. DJ Jack Da Rippa has been featured acrossed the country for his street sound and credibility in the hiphop game. DJ Jack Da Rippa has been recognized for countless mixtapes by The Source Magazine (Jan.07), XXL(Mar.07), Call & Post(Sept.08), Scence Magazine, G3 Magazine(June.08), and many more!! His unique style of scratching and mixing has created a buzz across the country and has created many touring oppurtunities (Bizzy Bone Tour '08, KRS 1 Concert Series '08). DJ Jack Da Rippa has also been featured on MTV Mixtape Monday for countless mixtapes within the past few years. His style is very refreshing to those who treasure the integity of hiphop. DJ Jack Da Rippa is truly involved with the education of hiphop to our younger generation. Educator by day and DJ by night, DJ Jack Da Rippa understands the importance of hiphop in the educational process. DJ Jack Da Rippa works hard to continue the process of educating through hiphop and holds down a college radio show every Wed. on 89.3 WCSB called GoGettaz Radio. GoGettaz Radio is also a 24hr internet radio station that features underground as well as main stream artists in the mix(www.gogettazradio.com). Though DJ Jack Da Rippa travels across the country djing, he also holds down residency at the hottest club in Cleveland, OH every Saturday night. Club Shadows which is located downtown in the heart of the city and caters to a diverse crowd. Nationally, DJ Jack Da Rippa was nominated in 2008 for best Internet Radio Show Mixtape at the Justo's Mixtape Awards in New York City (Feb.08) and best Midwest Mixtape DJ in 2007. DJ Jack Da Rippa was also recognized in Ohio by being nominated as one of the best mixtape DJ and Club DJ at The Ohio HipHop Awards for the past three years. Because of his hard grind in the streets, he was rewarded by being the offical DJ of the Ohio HipHop Awards in 2008. DJ Jack Da Rippa is regarded by most as "the DJ's DJ" across the country. DJ Jack Da Rippa truly a hiphop legend.
