DJ Velly began as a MIDI sequencer at the tender age of twelve. He was self-taught until attending music synthesis courses in college which led him to developing further skills in the use of various Digital Audio Workstations and keyboards. He is very experimental in style, but also tries to mimic those he respects. These influences include, but are certainly not limited to, Scooter, Groove Coverage, Darren Styles, Ronan Hardiman, Yanni, and t.A.T.u.
