About DEAD Records
DEAD Famous Artists - Who We AreDead Famous Artists International is a brand new, forward thinking label with its head office in Australia and affiliates set up in the US, UK and Europe, that continues to evolve with current trends and changes in today's "wired" marketplace. We have a great roster of artists that are both proactive and making waves on stages all across the world by having visibility through touring consistently and getting their material licensed into various media platforms like film, TV and advertising by both management and the label.
Dead Famous Artists International delivers groundbreaking new artists, a comprehensive catalogue of our artists' latest creative vision, as well as analysis on current and future trends in the ever changing face of the music industry, all designed to complement our offline efforts to push our music, licensing, publishing, and worldwide distribution network in a cooler, laidback 24/7 environment.
Dead Famous Artists International identify with all musicians because every single member of the DEAD Famous family is a musician themself. We also produce a bi-monthly compilation that spotlights some of the best new talent currently found on the planet. To help with this effort we have enlisted the support of our very good friends at Sonicbids.com, IACMusic.com and Entertainment Inc. To listen to some of our compilations, please check out our compilations page, where you can not only listen to every track on every compilation we've ever produced, but also grab any single track or tracks you like and put them in your shopping cart!
Dead Famous Artists Events are where artists and fans COME TOGETHER to connect in a simple environment that means something. We create a fun atmosphere by bringing together industry heavyweights, viral technologies, and current entertainment industry professionals, as well as fans and our artists to discuss and debate today’s most critical issues and trends in the evolution of the music today. Added to this is the stamp of leadership and objectivity that only the International Brand that is Dead Famous Artists can bring, resulting in the ideal melting pot for building even cooler personal relationships between artists and their all important fans...because WITHOUT their fans the artists are nothing!
How do we secure the confidence of our artists?
Let us tell you a brief story of facts first. It’s no surprise to anyone working in the game today that the industry is in a state of flux and in the process of imploding on itself. Coupled with the fact that I Tunes has announced that it will make its entire catalogue available for FREE to the public domain on a paid subscription basis only and will also introduce a policy where artists will pay a holding fee to have their content hosted. If you don’t pay your holding fee then your content will simply disappear from the grid until you do. The other thing to note is that Universal, Warners and Sony/BMG have all walked away from the digital giant and formed a strategic alliance with MY Space for all their new releases. Why, because My Space already has millions of dollars committed to branded advertising and this means that major labels now have a captive audience to market to. What does this mean to the two bit artist going nowhere fast and the label that believes in them? It means that music as we know it today isn’t worth a cracker and to even think to try and compete with the traditional model created by the Majors is a foolhardy exercise at best. There is a solution and it’s all about effective viral marketing. We offer the artist these immediate benefits by signing their product with us.
1. The inclusion of their three best songs in a non exclusive licensing deal to feature the tracks in the recut of the (52) x (26) min episodes of Not Recommended Behaviour which will be now known as DEAD Famous “LIVE” which used to broadcast in (56) countries around the world and had a reach of over 200 million people worldwide. The band will receive a top and tail credit on the extreme sports clip it is featured on as well as closing credits which will also feature there My Space URL. Here is a vehicle that creates immediate viral exposure and stimulates market visibility.
2. The incorporation of the bands two best songs on two consecutive DEAD Famous Artist Compilations which are physically distributed in Australia & New Zealand by MGM and sold for $10.99 of which on a pro rata share split between 12 artists on each CD is 12% of the return. Money for Jam at best…Yes, but vital pre-release exposure to help stimulate the street date for the album. The CD’s are digitally distributed worldwide including all I Tunes and other mainstay retail platforms at the same 12% split on a pro rata basis to the artists.
3. As we are effectively involved with the higher Hollywood community as music supervisors on various feature film productions. We can offer our artists first look at being included in any of these projects and their encompassing soundtracks. Most of these soundtracks are distributed by Majors and therefore as a rule of thumb if an artist hits the ground running with a track in a box office success, then chances are the label will reach out to them on discovery that they have a full blown album waiting in the wings ready to go. This is how mainstream exposure is created and subsequently capitalised on.
4. All DEAD Famous Artists are given the opportunity to align their back catalogue of material under an exclusive licensing deal we have with Teletunez / Warner Bros Television (W.B) where we simply make their material readily available to some (46) music supervisors to draw the material down for TV cues as they need it each week. The cue sheets are logged and forwarded on to the various royalty collection agency's around the world for collection. Its a 50/50 deal so the artist makes income from the licensing and gets cut a cheque when they least expect it. So far we have made available a pol of over 120 plus songs to the platform and this is growing every week.
Our current roster of artists include:

The Vaine - Young Kids Big Sound
Ever get the feeling that your favorite artist or group fails to take the execution of their particular craft seriously or seriously enough? Don’t get me wrong; I’ll be the first to admit that I wholeheartedly embrace a staggering array of acts that don’t necessarily focus on all things black and death, hence my disturbingly intense love affair with the margarita-soaked antics of the now apparently dormant Sugar Ray. Despite this (or perhaps in part because of it), I’ve grown more than a little weary of artists insistent on issuing release after release of strictly ‘…by-the-numbers…’ efforts. Where, dare I ask, has all the originality and creativity gone? Am I really asking for too much here? Fortunately for all parties involved, the Sydney, Australia-based quintet The Vaine have once again returned with a musical offering apparently designed to save us all from ourselves.
On the brilliant It’s A Disease (2008), an expertly assembled thirteen song collection of thunderous, Emo-tinged (and thus emotionally-charged) Hard Rock, each track, beginning with the slow-building (albeit unrelentingly searing) “Sounds Of The Mary Celeste”, and the thought-provoking social lament “If No News, Start Rumours”, wastes little--if any--time with the payola and chart position-driven formalities so often employed by their would-be contemporaries. Effortlessly swaggering through a wisely-chosen collection of material that somehow manages to remain lyrically and stylistically varied without straying from the group’s coveted, still evolving target audience, the frequently frantic fivesome scores major points early and often, easily firing on all eight cylinders without bogging down amid their own soon to be well-documented talents.
Continuing with the maddeningly infectious “By The Hand Of The Butcher”, and the impossibly scathing--yet unabashedly emotion-laden--“Damage In The Waiting Room”, the steadfast (to say the very least) combination of vocalist/rhythm guitarist Clarissa “Clik” Rogan, vocalist Shelley “Shell” Partridge, lead guitarist Bilal “Bee” Fouani, bassist Stephanie “Steph” Rogan (i.e. Clarissa’s equally talented twin sister), and drummer Jack Brunn steamroll ahead with a sickening ease that belies the quintet’s tender age. Wisely capitalizing on the grassroots momentum initiated with the release of 2007’s occasionally overlooked Regrets & Hollow Threats EP, the group attacks each multi-faceted composition with a bloodthirsty vengeance, resulting in a frequently barbed sonic barrage that is, without a doubt, quite easily worthy of the highest of critical accolades.
Co-produced, mixed and engineered by a ‘…dream team…’ tandem of the acclaimed Shane Edwards (Ash Phoenix, Red Distress, Thy Art Is Murder) and Dave Petrovic (Bagster, Cog, Tyler’s Riot) at Sydney’s legendary Electric Sun Studios, other standouts, including the quasi-Power Ballad “March Of Bastille”, and the curiously-titled “(Bee)n Stalking Jaque”, only further solidify the group’s already well-deserved reputation as a bona fide creative and commercial force to be reckoned with. Yes, my friends, it really is that freakin’ good. Even if you somehow ultimately find yourself less than enthralled with the delightfully pummeling, full-throttle blast that is the mighty It’s A Disease, one must, at the very least, sincerely admire the improbably young group’s arguably unparalleled ability to deliver such an undeniably mature effort so early in their career.
So why should you care? What makes The Vaine worthy of your undivided attention? Easily the most exciting (and perhaps outright memorable) Australian export of the last decade (!), the majority--if not all--of the decidedly hook-laden wares contained herein are jam-packed with a mind-boggling blend of unbridled youthful exuberance and sheer metallic crunch, a much-welcomed and increasingly rare characteristic that seemingly guarantees the self-proclaimed ‘…Screamo…’ group an exceedingly long and truly bright future. Consequently, if you’ve once again found yourself in search of a refreshingly fist-pumping, mosh-inducing alternative from the painfully blasé, regurgitated bullshit that is so often the status quo of the mainstream, then this, my friends, might just be the high octane cure the doctor ordered. Trust me, you won’t be disappointed.

One Of The Best Albums Of The Year
„We are Heroes“).

Australian Youth Gone Wild - The Vaine
"The Australian youth gone wild!"
Thumbs Up!!

Fyrefly - Boho Sheep Review
- Firefly’s “Boho Sheep” is an album with evocative musings and mellow instrumentation that will leave listeners agog. The female vocalist’s timbre is so sweet that it will mesmerize listeners into a state of utter relaxation.
The first track has soulful acoustic guitar and drum work, as the female vocalist sings about how her lover has stirred powerful emotions inside her. “You’re the one who made me. You’re the one who makes me whole…You’re the one who makes me search my soul…Maybe cuz I know the truth. That you are the one who sets my soul on fire. You are the one who fills my heart’s desire.” The intensity with which the female vocalist sings each line will conveys the depth of her adoration.
With the second track, specific acoustic guitar chords start off the song. The female vocalist’s timbre produces a hypnotic tone as she attempts to apologize to her beau. “Don’t mean to make you cry. That was the last thing on my mind…Forgive me if I made you cry…You’re my inspiration…Please understand I had to leave you. Forgive me if I made you cry.”
On the third track, the guitar play breeds a country music rhythm as the female vocalist muses with a sad tone about how a certain someone in her life cannot seem to express his innermost feelings and how his inadequacy to communicate has hurt their bond. “How do you feel? I’ll never know. Keep your feelings buried cuz they don’t show. Falls to me, if I want. To reach out with my hand but I won’t. Now here we are…Wonder how we can get to this place. See the smoke burns my eyes. Thought it was you but I was wrong.”
“Boho Sheep,” from Firefly, is an expressive record from a band that is not afraid to put their sentiments into song. The female vocalist’s passionate timbre, along with the skillful instrumentation from the remainder of the band, expresses deep and steadfast emotions, touching listeners to their very core.

Metal Maidens "Damnzal" sign with DEAD Famous
Damnzal, Melbourne’s favourite heavy rockers, have signed to DEAD Famous Records. Damnzal’s self titled album will be repackaged with new artwork, and a few surprises, and will be released by Blastzone/Nightmare in the US and Fontanna/Universal in Canada. The band are currently working on songs for a new album which will be recorded in June/July 2007 for release in November. A major US tour is planned for the fall of 2008, with artists including Dark Shift (Florida), The Vintage Burning (Wisconsin) and Drench (Chicago).
The members of Damnzal have been playing in different bands for over ten years. You may have seen them as Velvet Hammer, Ruby Doomsday, Spine of God, or Cyclone Tracy. If not, see them in their latest incarnation before they disappear overseas. This heavy hitting, powerhouse quartet is made up of three talented, sexy and dangerous females and a male drummer charged with power and style. Together they create an uncompromising, sledgehammer sound.
Check out the wild video of their interpretation of The Runaways classic, Cherry Bomb, on their My Space site or YouTube. Check out MySpace or the band’s website for the latest information and gig guide uide.

Dave Evans "King of all Badasses"
Interview with Dave Evans by Omar
Dave Evans ! Brother man ! How are you ? First off, let's hit the ground running, tell us all about what Dave Evans is all
about ?
I'm doing fine and boy that is some kind of question!! Everyone is so complex that it would take a volume to answer it. As far as the music goes well, for me it is all about the music and the fans and the performances and delivering the power, energy, dynamics and the conviction every single time.
Can't wait to see a show soon ! Your latest release SINNER has some truly kick ass tunes. Tell us about about this new release :
I got together with Mark Tinson whom I had written
songs with in the past when we were both in Australian
Rock Band, RABBIT, and we decided to collaborate our
song ideas and that he would produce the album for me.
We contacted several of our good friends whom we had
played with and rocked hard with in the past and we
all went to work and in three weeks we had the album
down.
Coming up with material in three weeks is highly commendable Dave. Coming up with Sinner, which totally kicks ass in three weeks, ROCKS. How involved were you in the overall Production of it ?
I didn't really have to do much as Mark knew what we
both wanted and we had worked together so well in the
past.
Good enough for me. How would you compare this release to others in Terms of what you've done with Rabbit and Thunder Down Under ?
This album is really back to basics, kick ass, hard,
Australian "in your face" Rock N Roll and every song
is just so strong that they all seem to be everyone's
"favourites".
I like them all as well, but if I had to choose one it would be Take Me Down Again. And what about A Hell of a Night ? Tell us about that ?
A few years ago now,I recieved a phone call from a
good friend who had an ACDC tribute band in Melbourne
(I was living in Sydney at the time) and he explained
that they were doing a special gig in 6 weeks time. He
told me that it was the 20th anniversary of Bon
Scott's death and it was a special show. He asked me
if they could fly me to Melbourne to appear and to
sing a few songs. As I had known Bon Scott before he
had joined ACDC and spoke to him privately after he
had joined, I agreed. Word got out about my appearing
at the gig and soon emails were coming in from all
over the world with best wishes for the gig and the
local rock radio station rang and asked me to come in
for an interview. I realised that this was bigger than
I thought it was and decided to record the even live
and to see if I could get a label to have it available
for the hard core ACDC fans who would want it. This is
what I did and it is available from Perris Records if
anyone would like a copy.
Hell yeah ! I'd like two copies. Now your guest appearance in 2003 with Blood Duster was a bit of a departure from your style considering it was more deathgrind/grindcore type music. Are we going to see more of Dave Evans in the thrashier music genres ?
I don't think so. I was just helping out a new and
young Australian band who asked me if I could just put
down a couple of lines on one of their tracks as it
would be good publicity for them. I went to the studio
and met them and just sang a couple of lines one of
their songs and wished them good luck with their music
careers.
I'm curious, do you think that music today, with its abundance of death metal and emo, and alternative rock, has lost it's pure raw edge ? Is it becoming so out there that it's going nowhere musically ?
The problem with a lot of the thrash metal is that a
lot of the musicians are playing for themselves and
their own personal egos instead of thinking of the
SONG ITSELF and what the song needs!!!!! Make the song
a great SONG and the fame and ego will go with it.
When you come up with a song, whats the first thing you have in mind ? What is the basis of a song for you ?
I usually come up with the hook line or chorus that I
know everyone will sing as soon as they hear it. Once
I have that then I write the verses to justify the
chorus.
Just to get an idea of your influences, what Bands
would we find in your CD Player right now ?
I am still a great fan of the classic, great masters
of rock like Led Zeppelin and Deep Purple, Free/Bad
Company. Led Zeppelin is to me still the greatest rock
band ever.
Do you play any other instruments ?
I have a guitar but only use it to help in song writing.
You were the original lead singer for AC/DC, that's totally cool in our books, so we gotta ask, in your opinion, since you were there in the beginning, do you believe you contributed significantly towards their sound or is your sound more influenced by what they contributed ?
The sound of the band always was a hard straight ahead
rock sound with the two guitar attack. We were all
influenced by the Rolling Stones, Free and Chuck
Berry. I am not going to take any credit for the
worldwide success of the band but I was there when we
had the first Australian hit single CAN I SIT NEXT TO
YOU GIRL? which was voted Australian single of the
year for 1974.
Any particularly crazy stories from those days that you can share ? How about something exclusive. Something you've NEVER told anyone before about the days when both you and AC/DC started out in music.
Malcolm Young and our roadie Rob and myself were
ambushed at the back of Chequers night club late one
night as we were leaving by four members of a rival
group that had given us lip while we were having a
quiet drink. They jumped out of their car as they drove
up with their lights on and the engine still running.
The building right behind us was going through
renovations so Malcolm picked up a length of wood that
was lying there, Rob picked up a brick and I grabbed
an empty coke bottle that was also lying on the
ground. The three of us started towards our "would be"
attackers and they turned tail and ran back to their
car and reversed at speed back up the alley way as we
hauled our missiles at them. We never saw them again.
I understand you'll be making an appearance at the
Bon Scott Celebration Concert in Australia where the
unveiling of the statue is taking place. What are your thoughts on this ?
A terrific gesture by the Bon Scott fans and by the
local Fremantle Council as Bon grew up there as a
young man.
We must say, in our opinion, that your music definitely stands on it's own. So we appreciate you putting up with the obligatory "humble beginnings" type questions. Now Dave, you've played quite a few shows with more to come, what stands out as the most awesome moment in your career ?
The first time I ever heard my very first recording
with AC/DC - CAN I SIT NEXT TO YOU GIRL being played on
the radio and it was on the hour every hour as it was
a top 5 hit at the time. I just couldn't believe it.
What a thrill that was. There have been many other
great moments that have meant more during my career
but that was and still is just a wonderful and
exciting memory.
We've got you on our Friends list on MySpace Dave !
How involved are you with the whole MySpace thing
considering it is THE most popular social networking site on the Planet ?
I do answer all my mail personally even if it is just a short thanks!! or welcome !! depending on the time I have.
And your MySpace headline : "King of the Badasses".
Care to explain that ?
I got that from the American Rock Fans. I soon
learnt that anything that was "badass" meant really
cool or really good. After my performances here and
breaking mikestands as usual and rocking the hardest
of fans and making them sweat that they would come up
and shake my hand and say "Man, you are truly the King
Of All Badasses" so I guess it has stuck.
So come on Dave, truth be told, you get lots of really hot pics in the mail from female admirers ?
Yep.
What's a typical week like for you ? What does Dave Evans do to party ? And to relax ?
I try to mind my own business at parties and stick with only good friends as I do get asked a lot of questions from fans and it is hard to really enjoy myself and to relax with a lot of strangers about. I like to read novels by Steven King and Dean Koontz and general World history. I love to travel as a tourist whenever I get the chance so that I can actually see
the country and the cities and towns and to enjoy the
history of the places.
Where can the people find you on the Internet Dave ?
Give us a rundown of where we can get our sights on
your sites ?
My official website is under new construction at the moment as I have just signed with Destroy All Records and they have released my album Sinner in the USA and about to in Canada and Australia but rock fans can go to www.myspace.com/daveevansrocks for some great stuff
including some cuts from Sinner.
Okay, anyone that knows Metal monthly knows we gotta
ask the nonsense question, so here it is Dave, our
strange question just for you : If you were on a burning plane with Angus Young AND Jessica Alba, with one parachute, and it was yours, AND you could only save one, who would it be ?
That's a silly question and has only one answer -
Jessica of course. There's something about being a
gentleman when it comes to women. All men are taught
that aren't we?
Uh, yeah, sure Dave. That's what we say. Any special words for the people out there ?
Get your copy of Sinner and play it loud and proud
and LONG LIVE ROCK !!
Thank you Dave ! You freakin' rule brother ! And I can say after this that you truly are King of the Badasses !
Thanks a Million !!!

Dark Shift "Gaining Ground" Review

Heavy Duty Artillery - The Vaine
The eclectic incarnation of harsh and melodic vocals, make THE VAINE standout amongst others. Shell with hardcore screams and Clik with a smooth melodic voice is a match made in heaven. THE VAINE have just released their debut CD “It’s A Disease” after releasing a fantastic EP in 2006 Regrets And Hollow Threats”.
Deep rhythms, power chords and cutting guitar licks by Bee hits the high notes of extreme. This is one band that will not let their guard down, since the music is volatile on any scale. The first track that stands out is “Sounds of the Mary Celeste.” The power THE VAINE holds is intense yet writing some catch licks still being aggressive and true to their fans.
Just listening to THE VAINE with three females and two guys still in their teens and the mixtures of sounds at a tender age amazes me. This is truly a combination of molding different genres coming together to overpower and take over a top spot in music. I love the aggressiveness and on the other hand, I love the great harmonies, which could be a huge key for the band. At times, they have a sound like Lita Ford vocally and once the harsh screams enter, it brings a totally different vibe.
One of the high points is “Oh Oh Chontelle” that has the feel of a cheerleading squad gone hardcore and bouncing back to a classic rocker. This is one helluva killer song and one of the best tunes I heard this year. I am not one who is into mainstream Screamo but THE VAINE can make an impact. They remind me a bit like EYES SET TO KILL but more extreme.
You must check out the guitar work by Bee, at a tender age is an icon already. The only thing that pisses me off is that THE VAINE will not be on this year’s Warped Tour because if the were, they would be known worldwide.
Check out the sensitive side of THE VAINE with “March Of Bastille” with soft vocals and acoustic sounds. But don’t get to mellow because THE VAINE is full of adrenaline and excitement and bounce right back with more killer tunes like “Love And Monsters” & “(Bee)N Stalking Jaque”. Ending a phenomenal debut is “We Are Heroes” that is reminiscent of an Ozzyish style tune. THE VAINE out did themselves with “It’s A Disease” and I expect to see this as one of the best releases of 2008. This is a must add to everyone’s collection.

Janice Doll - Soaring High
- “Silent Seasons,” from Janice Doll, is a lyrical release by a band that demolishes the barriers between the alternative, rock and pop genres. Singer/songwriter Paul Hodel conceived of forming a musical group in 2002 and the resulting quartet is Leo Krieger on bass, Frank Martins on guitars and Fabio Krieger on drums. Their song “Fall Apart” from their first album, “No Second Thoughts,” was huge on YouTube, garnering more than 100,000 views within the first month thus bringing their music to the masses.
“London Please” begins with deep and specific guitar strumming along with wicked fast drum work that goes up and down in its timbre. The vocalist goes on to explain how thin-skinned he thinks he is while portraying himself in a less than flattering light. “I have no more feelings…Nobody knows…I have no brain.” The imagery that this song presents could be considered depressing.
On “Autumn on Fire” there is darker guitar work, making the song one that could be heard during a thriller as the predator makes his or her approach. Then a rocking vibe takes over, along with pulsating drum play, as the vocalist croons confusing metaphors. “My pleasure meets the floor…Whatever you have to say.”
Janice Doll’s “Silent Seasons” is an album from a band whose influences range from the Smashing Pumpkins to Nirvana, and yet the band manages to conjure up their own unique musical thoughts. By splashing multiple genres together, “Silent Seasons” is a record that seems set to make significant fanfare in the music industry.

Biggleswade Chronicle (Fyrefly)
Langford band celebrates more success in USA
A Mid Beds band's ascent of one of America's top charts has reached new heights after notching up another top ten hit.
Indie rock group Fyrefly are celebrating after a second song from their debut album reached number three in the country's IAC Big 50.
Track Jus' Lookin entered the chart at number 34 but has risen steadily after thousands of fans downloaded and listened to the song over the internet.
It follows hot on the heals of the group's success in March when their song Stain got to number one in the same chart.
Lead singer Miche Follano of Old Mill Close, Langford, said: "We were blown away with the success we had with Stain. To have another song in the Big 50 is just amazing."
The Independent Artists Company (IAC) is the largest independent US internet radio content provider giving bands a platform to submit their work.
Miche, added: "A panel then looks at all the songs submitted and decide which ones they think are good enough to go in the chart."
Their position is then decided by the number of music fans who log on and listen to the songs.
Fyrefly's latest chart success rounds off a busy summer for the band which has seen them perform in front of thousands of fans at Hitchin's Rhythms of the World festival.
The band's debut album Boho Sheep is due to be released in America and Canada within the next six weeks and work on their second album is already well underway.

New Self High - Higher Still
“Deroot….Deroot...Deroot….Deroot….This is my family.” Those were the words on almost all Deroot fans lips. But now Deroot is no more, after Rob Mulligan and Ryan Thompson split off from the bassist Bryan Campbell because as Mulligan says “he was unbearable to work with.”
After Deroot split Mulligan (lead vocals and guitar) and Thompson (drums) didn’t waste any time, they began to hunt for talented and dedicated musicians to form a new band. They found Dave Perkins (bass) who was a former member of the band Spun and had also played with Thompson in another band called Throe. Additionally, Mulligan and Thompson found Tzywei (pronounced chewy) Cheng (guitar and vocals) online and convinced her to come and try out. Mulligan and Thompson were impressed “with her [Chung’s] guitar and vocal skills, and knew right away that she was right for the team” says Mulligan. The four of them instantly formed a good team, a great band called New Self High.
“New Self High is awesome” says Brandon McDugald, a junior at Edgewater High School, “I’ve only been to one show but from what I’ve heard, I like. I plan on going to more shows and am on my way to becoming a big fan.”
New Self High has a sound that is indescribable and unique. The members are all dedicated and passionate about the music they play. “As far as the band, I can speak for the other members to say they love/live music as well. We are each 1/4 of New Self High” said Mulligan. He described their music as empowering.
Music isn’t just important to the band; it takes a whole new level of importance to the lead vocalist and guitarist Mulligan. Mulligan stated, “It’s more important to me what’s being said than how.” Not only is Mulligan dedicated to New Self High but he is also working on his own little project on the side. Mulligan’s project, called godPawn, is basically Mulligan’s way of having songs that don’t really go with the rest of the things that New Self High is about. GodPawn is more industrial, hip-hop, hardcore, goth, triphop mix. Basically godPawn was formed with no boundaries and no rules, just plain fun to show Mulligan’s “eclectic ideas/songs.”
New Self High is an original piece of band that will keep crowds thrashing and throwing their bodies together. And although Deroot will be greatly missed, they will never be forgotten. The legacy of Deroot lives on through Mulligan and Thompson, as they strive for greatness in the music business. In my opinion New Self High and godPawn will go far. So go and check them out at www.myspace.com/newselfhigh, www.newselfhigh.com, www.myspace.com/godpawn, www.myspace.com/fucr, www.vaultoftheminds.c and www.myspace.com/godPawn and decided for yourself.
Achtung Damnzal

With Love & Scars (New Self High)

Autona: This interview will get the headline "Every mother's nightmare". I think your kind of dressing you up symbolizes your way of life. Can you tell us how your perfect life looks like?
Paula: A 'perfect life' would be too boring to contemplate. Our way of living life has always been slightly left of centre, actually very left of centre so I suppose the way we choose to portray ourselves in our style of dressing reflects the subculture we are into. We are not fashionistars and therefore do not subscribe to the latest editions of Vogue or Harpers Bazaar, but we do obviously like to provoke some sort of reaction... we donít really care what kind of reaction, as long as we get one! We are Australia's no. 1 trashwhores, especially on a good night out when we can afford to get completely trashed! (laughing) So lock up your sons.
Autona: What kind of people you like and what kind of people suck?
Paula: We especially love sexy boys and girls, with attitude and who embrace a lust for life. Stupid people with narrow minded perceptions of the world have always and will always suck! We have had our fair share of fucked up promoters trying to rip us off....... Sucking should be delegated to the bedroom, not to the human condition.
Autona: Your album really rocks and sounds refreshing. One songís called ìSatanís Preacherî, another one ìSex slaveî. Who do you want to provoke?
Paula: Both of those songs are to do with sex and lust and obviously meant to be an erotic expression of those things. Again, to provoke some sort of response is a good thing in my opinion, as I believe music needs to touch the individual listener in some way that is relevant to them, otherwise I have failed in my mission, and should probably give up! As far as these two songs go, Damnzal's music should provoke an awakening of the animalistic desires in people.
Autona: We're also a life style magazine. Can you tell me your Top 5 list what a girl needs to be bad and cool!
Paula: Because I can't make up my mind... and because I'm a bad girl, I will give you by top 666
1. Attitude with courage
2. A good tattoo. ...or two.. or three....or four.... or
3. A toy boy
4. A boyís toy... take your pick girls.
5. and last but not least... Boots...
6. Boots....
6. Boots....
6. Boots.....the bigger the better.
Autona: Did you ever play a live show in a really unusual and exotic place?
Paula: Not really, we are reserving our best live performances for the German public ... I have heard a lot about your delicious subculture and your appreciation of all things exotic. Personally, thus far, I think all our best live performances in Australia have been off stage!
Autona: If you play in Germany, maybe this year, what can people expect? Whatís the major difference between DAMNZAL and any boring band?
Paula: Damnzal is powered by 3 strong women (not girlies) who know what they want and how to get it, ... plus of course our very own Scotty.. need I say more? Imagine a 'freight train on heat' .. or being in a 'vacuum of hell'...that's what Damnzal feels like live. Actually attitude is everything. We are passionate and we like to play hard. We like people to walk away thinking they have witnessed something special... Damnzal aims to be something to everyone, good or bad, we need to provoke a reaction: love us or hate us ... the worst thing is for bands to evoke nothing, and indifference in my opinion is any bands worst enemy.

Stay In The Box Review (Janice Doll)
Janice Doll - London Please
Don’t be fooled by the name, Janice Doll are four Brazilian lads, who have come together to create some riotous noise. A wall of guitars meet soaring anthemic vocals in London Please to bring the ear a pretty damn fine song. The key lies in the cunning breakdowns following the rousing choruses. Nice work indeed. They are also not afraid to head off into some Rage Against The Machine territory with some great rapping over the middle eight. Very interesting… Watch out for their visit to the UK soon.

Dave Evans Rocks - Attitude of Life
As the original singer of Australia’s most legendary rock band, Dave Evans will forever hold a spot in the rock and roll hall of fame. This is not only because of his pilot position of the steamroller known as AC/DC, but because of his swift departure after a short tour and a notable song in “Girl Can I Sit Next To You?”
Dave Evans is now resurging and I had an opportunity to catch up with the wonder from down under to talk about his glittered past and the leathered future…
So let’s rehash a bit of the past… the story goes your stint with ACDC was shortened b/c of your glam style… And there’s been some “vegetable tossing” throughout the years… so what really happened?
D.E.: LOL!! The finger pointed at me for the short lived glam look is probably because of embarrassment now from the actual originators. When we first started we looked the same as every other band in Australia at first - jeans and shirt/t-shirt look - but just before we were to do our film clip for CAN I SIT NEXT TO YOU, GIRL? , the Young brothers explained to the rest of us - myself, Neil Smith and Noel Taylor (by now our third bass player and drummer) that Angus would put his age down three years to 16 and wear a Schoolboy's uniform and Malcolm would wear silk jumpsuits and boots like a glam kind of airman and that he wanted the rest of us to come up with something outrageous to really make an impact on the Australian public with the release of our single. Neil Smith came up with wearing a crash helmet and dark glasses and jodhpurs like a tough motorcycle cop and Noel came up with an outfit that represented the joker out of a pack of cards. I wanted to epitomize the ultimate rock star look coming out of the UK at the time and wore skin tight pants and boots and tops like English band, SLADE, and striped jacket and scarf like Rod Stewart. This worked a treat as the Australian public though we were a new British band to start with and when we were interviewed on tour some of the journalists were surprised to find out that we were Australian. It didn't matter to us as we were a hit! Actually Angus is the only one who continued with the glam outfit and the schoolboy outfit is now legendary.
You picked up the pieces quickly and moved on to head up several classic bands of your own… but do you ever look back and wonder what if? Of any of your bands, which was the most satisfying?
DE: I have been fortunate to have been in several kick arse Aussie bands over the years including RABBIT (often described as wildly hedonistic) and Dave Evans and Thunder Down Under. I guess the best time on and off the stage was with the boys from RABBIT although I have enjoyed the other line-ups too as each band was original and gave me the opportunity to write and record new music and to work with some great rock musicians around the world…
Art, especially music can unify people, who may have different fundamental beliefs; it is a way to communicate. Can you think of a particular song or performance that was the most unifying?
DE: Not any particular song as I have co-written songs with members of most of the bands I have been with so this in itself is unifying in the delivery of the performances.
When you compose a song where do you get your ideas from and how does a song evolve?
DE: Most songs are written from personal experiences which make for conviction when recording and performing the material and make it “real” for myself and easy to communicate the feel and the story of the song to the audience. As I am usually singing or humming melodies as I go about my daily business LOL!! , sometimes a song just appears and I have to write down the idea or it is lost. I have woken during sleep with a song going on in my head and have written down the tune and some lyrics before falling asleep again. I have actually recorded a few of these “dream melodies”.
Speaking of songs, do you think the songs from the first single you recorded (especially Can I Sit Next To You Girl?) will ever get re-released? Do you have any plans to re-record them?
DE: Rockin in The Parlour has been released on and Albert’s Music label album quite a few years ago. I am not sure what it is called. The original hit, CAN I SIT NEXT TO; YOU, GIRL? should also be released as it is where ACDC all began and was voted Australian single of the year. The fans love it. I performed CAN I SIT NEXT TO YOU, GIRL? Live at The Bon Scott Celebration Concert and it was recorded and released on the live CD from that concert.
So tell our readers more about being the King of All Badasses? Any trophies or stories associated with your title?
DE: Well someone once said that it wasn’t that I am “famous” but more “infamous” for whatever reasons and my performances are also described as very powerful and emotionally charged and this is what the fans have called me here in the USA after seeing the performance and meeting me afterwards. Badass is a term that means “really bad” and that as we all know means “pretty good” really but with real attitude. As a group of macho German fans said to me after standing in the front row at a performance ‘When we stand in front of you, we get scared – but we love it “?????
What do you plan to do or are already doing to gain more exposure and fans? Has the Internet helped spread the word about you, your music and your history?
DE: The internet has been invaluable in so many ways with the whole world open for communication for business contacts and for the fans. I plan to keep touring as long as I can as live performing is something that I have always loved and the fans mean everything to me as without them being an artist would mean nothing.
Could you take us through some highlights of the past twenty years?
DE: In the nineties I tried something a little different and went into acting, live on stage in some small productions and landed lead roles in a few “B production” movies that went straight to video. I usually was typecast as the “bad guy” but these roles gave me the opportunity to exploit the dark side of one’s personality and I must admit that I scared the hell out of some of the other actors who hadn’t met me before and only saw me on set as I was getting into character and then seeing the character created “in action”. I had to bring some of my rock n roll albums and photos to the set on one occasion to let them see that I was not really a callous, brutal killer. LOL !! Also my first visit to Europe as a performer was an eye opener. I lived in Munich, Germany and toured there and in Austria and Switzerland and really loved the great reception I received and to see the European crowds rocking hard from teenagers to some in their fifties. It was gratifying to receive the great reviews as I had no idea how I would be received there. Also it has been an honour to have been invited to participate in the Bon Scott Celebration Concert last February in Perth, Western Australia, with some of Australia’s best rock bands and musicians to raise money for a statue of the late, great, Bon Scott. I will be flying back to Australia this February once again to perform in Perth at the unveiling of the statue Concert.
So let’s talk about lead singer disease… is there a cure and if not, is there a certain enjoyment or push that comes from the fans that look up to you?
DE: I don’t describe myself as a lead singer especially these days as I write a lot of my own material and perform with a backing band. At the moment I am based in Dallas, Texas, with The Badasses, my current backing band.
Tell us about your latest projects? What is 2008 looking for Dave Evans?
DE: My latest album, SINNER, has just been released in the USA and Canada and my management is looking forward to touring me here very soon. I am now compiling new material for another album.
Of your discography what is your favorite live and studio album?
DE: The Bon Scott Celebration Concert live album is great and a slice of real Aussie Rock. My current album SINNER just kicks some serious butt.
A lot of people don't fully appreciate what it takes to live life on the road and literally sing for one's supper. What wisdom, hard and soft, have you gleaned from touring?
DE: Most aspiring band members dream about touring and some are lucky enough to actually get that chance. Then the reality sets in. They are away from family and friends, wives or husbands plus the comforts of home. It is ok for one or maybe two nights but if the tour is in weeks or months then it takes its toll on so many. This is when band members have to face the hard truths. Can they handle it and so often the answer is - No!! It takes a special breed to enjoy the rigors day in day out of touring and having to be disciplined to be able to perform at your peak night after night with little sleep and interrupted meal times plus the traveling. Inexperienced bands think that it is all about them and party to excess leaving the performances very much wanting. They forget that it is about the fans and the performances and the true saying that you are only as good as your last performance. One, find out if this life is for you and then Two, make it about the performances and the fans and the rewards will come back to you a hundredfold. Burnout for the inexperienced is commonplace from concentration on too much partying and not enough on the performing for the fans. There has to be a healthy balance to know when to let your hair down and when not to.
What inspires you to perform?
DE: I don’t know really. It is just in my blood. My father was on stage, singing and acting in local amateur shows when I was a boy and performing just runs in the family, I guess. We were always singing at home when I grew up and it was just something that we all enjoyed individually or together until I discovered rock music and then it was more just with myself or with my sister as my father couldn’t stand it as was the case with so many kids who discovered The Rolling Stones, The Kinks etc at that time.
What are the top 5 discs in your cd changer?
DE: I don’t’ have any permanent cd’s that I can’t live without if that is what you are asking as my musical taste varies for my own enjoyment. The greatest influences though are bands like FREE and LED ZEPPELIN.
Having been in this business for the long haul, how do you keep it interesting to yourself after all these years? What keeps moving you to create this space every week?
DE: Every audience is different and a challenge. I never take any audience for granted and they deserve the best from me every time and besides, it is my passion to perform and have been since I was a child.
How would you define the word success?
DE: Success is when a person sets a goal and achieves it. The thing to do then is set another goal and then to achieve that and so on and so on.
Who are your musical influences? (Site specific examples.)
DE: I enjoy many genres of music but personally I was inspired by the Beatles, The Rolling Stones, The Troggs and then later after leaving school, Free, Led Zeppelin and Deep Purple.
Is there any particular band or artist that is currently inspiring you?
DE: LOL!!! Not anyone new really but I am lucky enough to be able to inspire others right now.
Any final thoughts for our readers?
D.E. Rock is an attitude and a way of life and not all people ROCK!! To your readers I say - “WE ARE ROCK and PLAY THE MUSIC LOUD!!”

New Self High CD Review
Anspieltipps: Self-Centered, Interlude, Misunderstanding

Baby Dolls From Hell (Damnzal)

Split The Atom (New Self High)

Dave Evans - Sinner Review
Tracklist: 01. Back On The Firing Line, 02. Rock 'n' Roll Or Bust, 03. Take Me Down Again, 04. Only The Good Die Young, 05. Sinner, 06. Carnal Knowledge, 07. Turn It Up, 08. Out In The Cold, 09. Go Down Fighting, 10. Sold My Soul To Rock'n'Roll, 11. D.O.A., 12. The Thunder Down Under.
Thanks to a new deal signed with the label DA Records, from 25th September the album Sinner, realized by the great singer Dave Evans, will be available on the stores in a new, reprinted version. Dave Evans was AC/DC founder and first singer in the first vinyl called Can I sit next to you girl , released on 1973, which is the first work from the australian band formed by Angus & co. Sinner has a really huge impact thanks to Back on the firing line, a powerful and catchy song. The singer has a deep, hoarse and strong voice, useful to create a winning musical excerpt. You can totally breath a 100% rock atmosphere listening to Take Me Down Again, an amazing song which is able to thrill every listener, giving a lot of adrenaline, like feeling yourself getting out from a running train. Sinner sounds like a typical boogie – rock song, showing off an hot atmosphere balanced by a perfect combination of scream voice and powerful guitars. It sounds sharp like a true rock song. I think that it’s hard to choose the best song, cause this is an explosive album, full of energy, which is able to grasp one’s audience from the beginning till the end. For sure it’s impossible to resist music, listening to Sold my soul to rock ‘n roll, one of my favourite songs, definitely a rock ‘n roll hymn, rough and wild thanks to an hot riff and a fiery refrain underlined by an amazing voice, which is the true protagonist of the whole song. I’m writing about a true, pure and fast album, composed by twelve songs that really could win one’ spurs. Ladies and gentleman, we have a sharp, “cult” cd reprinted ready to be listened and if you’re looking for a fucking rock n’ roll, well, this album has been “served up” on your table.

The King of All Badasses
In an age where rock music is being replaced with tags such as neu-metal, emo and gothic it is a genuine treat when someone turns around and sticks two fingers up and screams ‘fuck you, I’m doing what I want’.
Now, don’t get me wrong. I love rock in most of its forms and enjoy listening to everything from Whitesnake to Nine Inch Nails. Newer bands such as Disturbed, Seether and the sadly split Creed can’t be beat when sat writing, but I have a love for old style rock that is just bang your head brilliance.
With that in mind you can imagine my surprise when I make contact with DAVE EVANS, original front man for AC/DC and self confessed badass of rock. We get to talking and he offers (very kindly) to send me a copy of his solo album SINNER. I wait patiently for it to arrive and rip away the packaging in eager excitement. I waste no time in sliding the shiny disc into my player and ready my ears for pure rock n’ roll.
And, fucking hell was I in for a treat!!!
SINNER is one of those albums that grabs you by the scrotum and drags you back to an era when Rock music was just that…ROCK N’ FUCKING ROLL, BABY.
I was immediately grasped by Dave’s voice; a mixture of GENE SIMMONS (KISS), DEE SNIDER (TWISTED SISTER) and BRIAN JOHNSON (AC/DC) that has then been fed through a super amplifier and cranked up to full volume. Take this voice and place it amongst some of the catchiest riffs since ALICE COOPER and you have a fucking winner. After only a couple of listens I found myself singing along as if I had been a member of the band from the start, banging my head until my brain hurt.
SINNER is 100% undiluted hard rock, an album brimming with sound and energy. It’s rare to come across an album that embodies what rock is all about and does so with never a filler track in sight. Each and every song does exactly what you would expect. I can’t wait to see what the badass of rock does next.

Dave gets Maximum Ink
Dave Evans is the original singer for the band AC/DC. Dave is very outright about his days with AC/DC and the direction he had with them. But Dave, after leaving AC/DC continued to pursue his music dream and that was to put together a few bad ass bands:
After AC/DC, Evans joined Newcastle band Rabbit, replacing original singer Greg Douglas. Rabbit released 6 singles and two albums between 1975 and 1977. Rabbit were described as frenetic and were famous for their wild hedonistic stage act and the second album, Too Much Rock n Roll, was released in Europe and Japan with mild success. His other bands included Dave Evans & Hot Cockerel and Dave Evans & Thunder Down Under Evans has also released two solo albums. The first was a live recording, "A Hell Of A Night", which was a memorial gig for the late Bon Scott on the 20th anniversary of his death with Melbourne AC/DC tribute band Thunderstruck after Evans was invited to perform by friend and Thunderstruck member, Simon Croft and a live recording was released in the year 2000. The second of which was an album released in February 2006 that was recorded with some of the members of his previous groups, Rabbit and Hot Cockerel plus some of Newcastle's finest rockers, and was entitled Sinner. Evans has toured in Europe with Munich band, Thunderstruck and with his own band as support to USA Southern Rock Band, Molly Hatchet to great reviews in magazines and newspapers.Whilst Evans holds no bad feelings towards AC/DC today, the feeling does not seem to be mutual, with Angus Young recently declaring, "To even call him a singer is being a bit polite."[citation needed] Dave's album Sinner has received outstanding reviews from around the world and can be seen on his myspace site. Sold My Soul To Rock n Roll from the album was one of the nominations for the 2007 LA Music awards. (nomination is on his myspace). As of 2006 Evans is with a new band, Dave Evans and the Badasses, and is currently touring.

Snake Rocks!

Snake Review
Can one make music in Australia, without being affected by AC/DC? There are few examples like the momentarily very successful GABRIELLA CILMI, but around the juvenile Soul tube it does not go confirming here and exceptions finally only the rule. Instead the current Silberling turns „Strike! “of SNAKE in my CD player and the boys are definitely infected of sound of AC/DC! 2006 brought bassist and singers Larry Attard SNAKE in Brisbane into being and already the first chords of the Openers „Let The Music Begin “to place clearly, where the hammer hangs. The announcement reads simply: bone-dry skirt 'N' roll - accordingly also the sluggish „Sweet Revenge follows “in the good tradition of AC/DCs „The Jack “. With „Strike “the boys from down give gas and „in For The Kill “also let themselves more under again properly not long be asked. Splendid Gitarrengegniedel rattles from the boxes, before „time sets “knarzendes Midtempo. With leisurely Blues it continues with „down That Road “, then „Smokin loads Diesels “to a wild Parforceritt of the long axes in. With „Out OF The Night “hunt meanwhile the Drums the stringed instruments by the dark night, then once again bluesgeschwängerter skirt returns, with which approving with head and foot may be whipped, during Mr with „Main LINE “. Attard a grummelndes bass-solo puts and by Wiskey and dumps coined/shaped the vocal cords down from the neck walks themselves. No child stuff separate handmade skirt, as already our fathers loved it. Well, mine perhaps not, nevertheless the target group might have to be looked for rather with those, Saturday in the evening with buddy and child and cone the steaks on the grill schmeißen, instead of holding in Discos for fresh meat look out.

The Vaine CD review
Some years ago gab' s a few zornige girls, called themselves KITTIE and made beautiful for their tender age alarm completely. After a highly praised debut and an actually not bad, although considered less successors has I this volume from the eyes lost. Power however nothing, because does not give now it to replacement for American would ferment. This replacement calls itself THE VAINE and originates from Australia. Admitted, I must limit the comparison. Because contrary to KITTIE a male nature plays at least with the juvenile Rabauken. The zottelfrisurverzierten pictures in the Booklet and name like” Bee “,” Steph “or” Clik “permit only hypothetical conclusions regarding the sex of the persons shown. That in the myspace account of THE VAINE the same pictures to see are make more difficult the thing additionally. Power in addition, nothing, because us go it around the music from THE VAINE. And with above all the singing is noticeable. That comes from singer Shelley and Clik, who and/or also the guitar play. Both convince both with the hate-fulfilled poison and Galle Kotzen and with melodisch spoken, emo screamolastigen Refrains. This contrast represents two of the poles, between which THE VAINE oscillate creatively. Gebolze and singing, rage and fragility, Powerchords of the edge GRAIN or MUDVAYNE and frickelige THIN LIZZY and VAN HALEN Run it are the contrasts, which constitute THE VAINE. In principle one can stick the fünfen label new metal on forehead or Hinterbacke. And although I stand for this direction with a certain skepticism opposite, I must certify the boys or girl good audibility. For beginners they prove with the Songwriting and at the instruments as sattelfest, know each other their roots well and are characterised by musical-creative ripe ones. The album play time of approximately one hour is so regarded equally amazing and pleasing. Nevertheless there is no unrestricted recommendation of me. However only, because THE VAINEs music personally unfortunately does not address me without reservation. Partly the titles resemble each other strong and that are not good with music, which does not please one to 100%. Nevertheless: strong thing, strongly made. More tolerant contemporaries and such, not at Emorefrains disturb themselves have hieran large fun. Determined. Pure-hear and in any case times live to look at. If one is times again in Australia. Points: 7/10

The Vaine - CD review
Now it passed, one a Emocore plate to me was jubilant. A category, upon which everyone looks down due to the doubtful fan scene rather measure-courageously, although apparent hardly anyone heard times really ne plate of it. Also THE VAINE from Australia circumnavigate this cliff outward elegantly, by describing their style as „Screamo, Metal, Powerpop “, but hey: at the latest according to a view in the Booklet, with respect to that not of woman flax to differentiate and realizes the designation leaves itself to Männlein „Hair Crime “a completely new meaning attained, that THE VAINE Emo are. But times so correctly. And if nevertheless, is not me that now also all the same. Because: so the mood is bad on the debut Longplayer „It's A Disease “really not. The volume covers a rather far spectrum between schmalzigen Balladen („March OF Bastille “), fetzigen core numbers („By The hand OF The Butcher “) and nearly already complex arranged Longtracks („If NO news, start Rumors “), and works thereby amazingly. Song are arranged under no circumstances simple, go after some time however nevertheless amazingly well into the ear. Do not in addition-get so splits is easy, and even if it does not fold always, THE VAINE pulls itself with the Songwriting respectably from the affair. Besides those never runs volume the risk to drift into lame Gesülze since the two singers divided the clear passages and harsh Gekrei well among themselves. Like that the nevertheless quite long plate is audible also at the piece, without slamming thereby suddenly with the head on the table. Emocore is not my music and it will also never become, but objectively regarded THE VAINE makes its thing already very tidy. For damp panties in the public the troop due to at the beginning of quite bulky material probably not to ensure (and also not, because one cannot differentiate between the sex of the musicians, see above), but at least it a responding visiting card out down to Under into the world sent. 28.07.08 · 189x read 6 comments

The Vaine - CD review
I must admit that I was not really enthusiastic to have to write a criticism over the Australians THE VAINE. My displeasure developed, when I had to read the description of music with decaying Metal/Screamo on the settled letter. And completely honestly, within the range there is surely a pair of volume, which are completely nice, but so really my case is there genuinly hardly which. Except POISON THE WAVE (already rather are settled in the Metalcore range actually) came there with me over " nett" completely; also nothing outside, is to be expected straight in the quite popular Screamo and Emo branches as much originality and Spontaneität as in a timetable. One can by its prejudices to be been deceptive be able so easy, because THE VAINE with the sugar-sweet nineteen-year old (!) Front tube Shelley me actually immediately convinced. It falls me relatively heavily, " It' s A Disease" to categorize somehow reasonably. The Australians move in a quite broadly diversified profession; thus for example Metalcore loans as with CALIBAN (which I by the way for total overestimates to hold, can ENGAGE be heard) or KILLSWITCH. Likewise melodische Death Metal tendencies show themselves such as ARCH ENEMY, what is not least because of Shelleys of great voice. On the other side we find even in parts May-the-similar Gefrickel to IRON, like for example in ' If NO news, start Rumours'. In addition I mean to hear parallels to volume such as STORY OF THE YEAR in ' By The hand OF The Butcher' for example, me at ' And The Hero wants Drown' reminded. You see thus, the musical classification of THE VAINE is nevertheless a rather difficult venture, the Jungspunde avail themselves rotzfrech in all corners the Metals, without being able to be limited from any category borders. This attitude I find extremely praise worth, develop a marvelous, more complex and also nevertheless so actually condemn good-tasting cocktail for in music unlocked Genießer, which does not müffelt after Trittbrettfahrerei on the Emo wave. Is opened the scarcely in-hour musical roller coaster ride fit-proves with the title ' Aim and Fire' , which shows directly that surprised listener, where the Barthel gets the Most. Shelley has such a so glaring organ with its nineteen years that she approaches loosely to a Angela Gossow (ARCH ENEMY) or a Rachel Heyzer (ex-SINISTER). Altogether the female singing pleases me with THE VAINE very well, also the clearly sung places, which are taken over by Gitarristin Clik. Contrary to volume such as CALIBAN, those already nearly power Metal similarly a Oktave to highly kreischen, always remains Shelley in a height, which does not penetriert the nerves. And it sounds simply not as weinerlich as with volume as BOY SETS FIRE, if a woman sings usually the clearly sung Refrains. Where one would like to hand a handkerchief to the poor man with BOY SET FIRE, so that he stops finally with the Heulerei, one can listen to THE VAINE of good conscience, without one the singing zerfrisst nerve costume. The high measuring pole, itself the boys and girls with ' Aim and Fire' even put, by THE VAINE one keeps consistent. On " It' s A Disease" are no outliers, song are correctly good all. But Shelley white to convince, also the rhythm and string parliamentary group do not only control their handicraft outstanding, I would like even nearly to say, for their age almost terribly well. This shows up also in the Songwriting, which - as above already suggested - is relatively complex. We find Scandinavian of reef, we have already in parts nearly progressively seeming Drumming (similarly as with POISON THE WAVE), marvelously variedly to speed changes and mehrstimmigen singing and Gekrei, in order to call only some examples. Song are not foreseeable absolutely; unverfroren has one for example in ' Damage in The Waiting Room' even a short Techno similar sequence inserted, on which surely absolutely nobody counted. Why? I think, simply because one can do it and because one does not try to fulfill any plate. Nevertheless songs go such as ' By The hand OF The Butcher' , the nearly popige ' Oh Oh Chontelle! ' or the informative - we learn in the song, how it has Shelley probably most of all, or I understand the text wrongly - ' (Bee) N Stalking Jaque' immediately in the ear and hits are without exception. With ' March OF Bastille' likewise a Ballade is present, in which THE VAINE gets along completely without Gekrei and shows Clik, what for a mad singing voice it has. Geil I find also the quite hard ' real; Incurable' , which comes along even in parts thrashig and shows also certain Death Metal loans. In terms of production engineering is " It' s A Disease" very successfully. The sound is printingful, highly transparently and perfectly merged. Shelleys and Cliks voices work excellently into the music eingewoben. THE VAINE show on their current output that they have talent and also the will to really have to realize this without being able to be limited from category borders. Clearly, " It' s A Disease" is modern music. Who stands only on brutal Death or Black Metal, the disk will find terrible. Who is however ready to near-happen objectively to the Silberling and in music rather unlocked humans are, express I an unrestricted Purchase Recommendation. Oh, and I would have gladly Shelleys telephone number. Anspieltipps: Aim and Fire, If NO news start Rumours, Oh Oh Chontelle! , By The hand OF The Butcher, Love and of monster, (Bee) N Stalking Jaque Hagen Kempf [4.7.2008]

Who actually says the youth is to nothing more to be used? Well find I come probably slowly into the age in which I already from self protection such sayings knock should, because also I no more three shreds on the day into me reinfuttern can without these then at the belly again. There one may nevertheless at least on it appoints itself many more coolly to have been as one still green behind the ears was, as the hops today. But willy-nilly such expressions are simply not always correct. We take times the Australian volume THE VAINE. On average tender nineteen years young brought the volume out straight their debut long iron consisting to the majority of girls „It's A Disease “. Well, the fact that neither due to the names nor the volume photos 100%ig to be constituted is who now Männlein and who woman flax is could cause for the mockery offer. But one regards the substantial, i.e. which roars there from the boxes, looks the world already somewhat differently. In principle will first leg five the rather fetzigen hybrid from modern Metal, in order not to use the Unwort Nu Metal, with a certain impact to the Metalcore and loans at the Screamo. At least at first sight. When exact hearing also some more Melodic Death smuggles itself also clean and Crossover can proportionately also times be looked. Sounds as more wildly mix? May be, but the ladies and gentlemen get it, above all because the whole for so young musicians is condemned well structured and offers playful some at highlights. Very violent power Chords, supplementing Moshparts and BREAK press a strong air from the lungs over times with the proposal hammer a flight corridor into the Gehörgänge to strike. Over it filigrane of guitar runs, which would be to be settled somewhere between THIN LIZZY and IRON MAIDEN, are however again and again astonishing. In addition or other outstanding melody and also times semi acoustic sounds come in around the whole to round off. Driving Drums and suitable bass work complete the positive picture of the instrument parliamentary group. In addition zweistimmiger singing of the girl front comes in form poison and Galle of a spitting and crying front tube Shelley, which a Angela Gossow (ARCH ENEMY) is problem-free equal, and which has active Gitarristin Click (, calls itself really in such a way) within the clear range, the one beautiful, not too high and flexible voice, which makes itself very good beside the melodiösen Refrains then also times in a Ballade „the March OF Bastille “. If one considers the straight times nineteen counter those the two girls to exhibit can, one must show up impressively. Completely without negative sides it does not go here in addition. Despite the actually good Songstrukturen the song property on „It's A Disease is inclined “to resemble each other too much now and then and some distances works somewhat therefore monotonously. Or other proximity to successful sizes would also not have to be, because the Australians already have hit potential enough. Somewhere between BULLET FOR MY VALENTINE and ARCH ENEMY have THE VAINE that potential rather largely rauszukommen. With or others of the somewhat calmer things, which come with one quasi GREENDAY Refrain from there, one could be MTV and VIVA suited, which I by the way likewise quite packed under points of minus convincing of an otherwise and maintenance seeds of album. More unlocked Metalheads should clean-hear among other things times in „Aim and Fire “or „Incurable “. TRACK cunning: 01. Scarecrow: The Beginning 02. Aim and Fire 03. Sound OF The Mary Celeste 04. What happened if does one young Kiddies in Australia alone into a Butze lock up and them instruments into the hand does press? Correctly, one creates oneself bad creatures tries on the Emo, Screamo, to establish core market. It does not surprise me the fact that volume consists of 5 the boys and girls, is who on the average 19 years old itself oriented at the current music, which consists much in the today's time now times of Emo and Screamo. But the result can be able to be seen real. Without the many prejudices and attack regions too forgotten these volumes a fair chance must be granted here. Because which Kittie fooled before not at all all too long time, takes place also here and now again. THE VAINE give on eat correct and have exactly the juvenile power the so some other Combo are missing. A-usual of reef and two girls the poison and Galle spit indicate here the clay/tone. The Drums is produced tidy and under-paints the whole package with a tidy dose " Auf' s Maul". If one considers the troop on average only is as old, I would lean even for the moment from the window and to state that they have still another large career before itself, if they continue on the level, and/or which whole ones still another little develop and extend. Because which concerns the Songwriting, one cannot do really meckern, it gives quick Balladen and groovige of going off song here. The Gekeife is to be identified clearly as Kittie, which does not attach the whole one however now necessarily somewhat bad. In Australia this Teenie Combo is celebrated already largely and gepusht and now is located one also in Europe in the starting hole around this strong and deadly mixture to the people to bring also here. Result: All friends of Emo, Screamo skirt/Metal can access here without doubts, in addition, lovers of hard skirt and volume such as Kittie and Killswitch Engage should find in my opinion a large favour at this group. ung, again and innovatively - with these three words The Vaine from Sydney can be described well. Flogged with Kraft of two singers by any Screamo /Emo plate and in such a way to play itself The Vaine to the tip of the spear of that disputed kind of play of extreme music. The young musicians anyway already represent, get a rare piece to five around Brüllbolidin Shelley one in this section nevertheless mostly from male representatives the verses to the head cried. Whether that pleases the bent listener, he must decide for itself. The mixture from cleanen, projecting SAM sung melodies and roared steam rollers pleased me anyhow very well. One by varied BREAK, sudden rhythm and speed changes, as well as ingenious Mitsingmelodien, who remain being to one immediately in the Gehörgang, are surprised again and again. Handling and the play with the melodies convinced and exactly with this means show us The Vaine, how one should play in-usual, modern Metal today. Packed in a printingful production and a beautiful Coverartwork, this plate should be tested particularly for friends of volume such as Atreyu or also Silverstein, because a freedom of movement that volume is to be compared with by The Vaine. Sugar-sweet melodies, interesting Breakdowns and great of reef form the basic structure for this album all around succeeded, which I can really put to each lover modern Metals to the heart. No song falls unpleasantly from the row, it is worthwhile oneself to through-listen the plate completely because it will already then pull one completely into its spell. Absolutely secrettap! New Self High - CD Release
" … With Love and Scars" 2000 could already have rauskommen, when many new Metal sizes on their zenith were, and millions of CD sold. Thus I do not want to say that NEWSELFHIGH afterwards-tumble to a trend, but their music has somewhat very typical for this time interval. In addition the directness and in-usual structure the song count: The eleven of song let it not missen at power, Groove and strong melodies and go also text immediately into the ear. Greases reef, convincing singing with Metalcore Screams, cool Moschparts, in addition, more native tones stand for the newcomers well to face. Altogether the album became a round thing with high maintenance value. NEWSELFHIGH understand it to write responding and varied of song and avail themselves thereby of well-known trademarks. Their style is singular and again surely not, and they create it that its sound does not sound ausgelutscht. And the thing for fans the mentioned volume makes interesting. NEWSELFHIGH haben' s drauf like the large ones and a considerable debut delivered. 8 years in former times, and them could have also correctly largely absahnen thereby. In addition, anno 2008 rockt the part correctly well.

Crying Is A Form Of Bleeding - The Vaine
Whenever volume in Metal /Hardcorebereich emerges the female singing/shouting offers, many think on ‚embankment OF Jericho' or if they are old enough on ‚Kittie'. ‚The Vaine' can one with both volume hardly compare. Walk with ‚The Vaine' also a Mrs. its Hardcorestrophen, reached however never the intensity of ‚embankment OF Jericho'. ‚Kittie' could fit still rather however by completely differently the aligned music of ‚The Vaine' is also this comparison limping. We let It's A Disease speak thus „“for itself. Which ‚is magnifying glass-pure Emo with nem little hard core presents here us to The Vaine'. The texts aim on the young pubertierende Emopublikum, which experiences probably their fulfillment in the passage in the text „Crying is just A form OF bleeding “. Besides the volume gives the full packing, small sweet of Sweden reef to us by an insignificant Schlagzeug is accompanied. A Beat is held, each girl the opportunity lets throughout dance around its Täschchen to rum-be entitled ärrmm with edifying arm and to also sing the cleanen Vocals. Clik, which is responsible for it has me on the album at most convinced. Cleanly and with very much feeling the cleanen Vocals is hurled under water near Emovolk. Stimmlich much responding is also Shelly their throatigen Vocals consistently pulls through and thus the Emo “chaps “now and then opportunity to the Windmill gives. The two change themselves prettily throatige Strophen, melodiöse Refrains - which go to super fast into the ear for off. This Poptauglichkeit of simple is supported developed song, complexity yields definitely dance barness. ‚The Vain' have also long titles in the program the also small BREAK and unexpected rhythm changes to bring out, these can however about the other musical desert not emislead. Although the young Australians are too fine/inside for no Schandtat. Thus of the Enter Shikari and Nevea Tears are to look loosely old leave beside Balladen, which set all 16 year old Teens in Verzückung become, also a Technopart. Thus the album starts after „Oh Oh Chontelle “only correctly by although the best of song „Aim and Fire “probably is. With „incoming goods of acres Heroes “one will then rausgeschmissen and asks themselves, is that hero the one promising future before itself to really have? That style-mix from Emo, hard core, to convince Sweden reef and Pop white. Song go obtaining fast in the ear and a quite good party tendency. But just as fast as one song incorporated, just as fast forgot oneself one her also again. If one the same reef felt 100 times in all song hears makes it sometime no more fun. I see most deficits musical within that to volume. Somewhat more pressure, somewhat less Pop already well would do to the disk. But perhaps those is volume on exactly out to celebrate Popigen Emo the by the dozen girls in Verzückung will bring. Similar volume: Bombshell Further comparable of volume: Catherine, Kittie
