Darowyn is the stage name that I use. It is a name generated by a computer programmme I wrote to generate exotic names for the role playing games my sons loved. By pure coincidence, if it was a Welsh name, it would mean "white oak". I am not Welsh, t5hough I can claim a Celtic inheritance. I was born in Lincolnshire, in a town whose name is often censored by profanity check software. While I was there, I was highly commended in the local Communist Party Second Annual Baby Show. I grew up and went to school in Leeds, Where my Mother warned me that I should study my school subjects more thoroughly, because I would never make any money from Music or Motorbikes. I went to University in Liverpool, and became a teacher, though most of my life I have made a living out of something to do with Music or Motorbikes.
I find it easier to write songs of loss and desperation, than happy ones, though I like to think there is a sense of humour in even the saddest ones.
