Antifolk's own Joan Jett, Somer [of Clinical Trials] rocks harder than pretty much anyone she shares a bill with.

Known today as just Somer, this petite but powerful "electro-grunge" rocker with her sultry singing voice and tough exterior is way more than meets the eye... Her eclectic style is ever-evolving and if you start following her now, you'll be lucky enough to take the journey with her.

Live, Somer's vocals were as smooth and velvety as a dark southern whisky, with the bite and burn of a shot of Tequila. Her incredibly waif-model-like stature was almost dwarfed by her massive acoustic guitar, but she manhandled it with aggressive strumming that she'd capture on a digital delay pedal which she then utilized to add depth to her songs and performance. Overall, the girl's got her own thing going on, and I'm looking forward to hearing and seeing her career blossom.
