Public support is what made the Dead Lake Association's auction and festival a success. Tim Sullivan continued, "We really appreciate all the donations from the public and businesses, products, services, and gift certificates. We couldn't have done it with out everyone." The event brought in over $14,000 and consisted of live and silent auctions, a flea market and country store, lunch with a variety of food choices, entertainment by Cathie Fredrickson and raffle ticket and clothing sales.

Cathie Fredrickson's album, "Yesteryears," was recorded at Resound Recording here in Fergus Falls. Erik Vigessa, sound engineer and fellow musician, along with Brad Pribbenow on drums, assisted Cathie in the spring release of her original songs and music. Her greatest influence in genue came from the folk singers of the 60's with the first album she bought of Marianne Faithfull, up to present Jewel. Rock and Roll and the blues are also evident on her album.

In the early 1970's, Cathie Fredrickson posed for local sculptor Charles Eugene Gagnon's work titled "Renaissance Woman." The bronze statue is still on display at the Marriott Hotel, and Fredrickson is still a "Renaissance woman" as heard on her debut CD. As a teen, Fredrickson, who graduated from John Marshall High School in 1968, was involved in musical productions at Rochester Civic Theater. Last year, Fredrickson. who now lives in Fergus Falls, Minn., recieved a McKnight Foundation grant in support of producing her original songs. Her debut CD "Yesteryears" is described as psychedelic folk music in the vein of Jewel, Melanie and Judy Collins.
