Calais

Calais is a 4 piece rock band from Brisbane Australia with a reputation for delivering a tight live sound. Their songs combine creative melodies with strong rhythms and emotive lyrics. People describe their sound as a cross between the Kings of Leon and U2, but their music is influenced by a spectrum of styles and ages, including Muse and Led Zeppelin.
The band formed in early 2010 primarily to enter a local band competition, which they won. In a relatively short time they have written several songs that showcase not only their precocious talent as song writers but also their skill as musicians. Six of these appear as tracks on their recently recorded debut EP.
