About Big Shane
Without the help of any management, promotional, or marketing team, and also at his young age, he has a talent that is amazing when it comes to pursuing a musical career. Born overseas in Taegu, South Korea to a military family, Big Shane quickly matured to manhood. With his father often absent due to military duties, he stood out of the crowd and led by example. Ever since he could remember music has been his dream. Raised around various ethnic races, he grew up listening to any and every type of music genre, including old school to new school Rap and R&B. Since the young age Big Shane has always been a wise business man whether music, fashion, networking, or just everyday life. He was inspired by any and everyone that had something to do with the word “MUSIC”!Some of his musical influence came from the likes of Southern rap stars such as UGK, Cash Money, No Limit Records, Swishahouse, and Trill Ent., and also many hot indie artists from around the nation. Big Shane released his first underground project entitled “The 6-3 G” in 2005. This is where he began his grind while hustling CD’s by hand from the streets, to local schools, and anyone he heard listening to Hip Hop music. He also frequented local corner stores that were supporting him and his music in the beginning by asking for help in pushing his music to the street. After many locals heard his voice and music, Big Shane was labeled a local celebrity and since then, he has been destined and determined to make it in the music industry.
Two years later he decided to do bigger and better things and started his own music group/entertainment label “Cut Tha Check Entertainment” (C.T.C. Ent.). During the start of C.T.C Ent., Big Shane had thoughts of only using the name as a music company. He began networking with others locally and internationally and studied different businesses and skills in the entertainment industry. After studying and working hard on other musical projects, Shane decided to start his own modeling team, consisting of female models “C.T.C Models”, which were featured in many music videos with major artists, including Mike Jones, R. Kelly, Paul Wall, Ray J, Slim Thug, and many more, including magazines and calendar photo shoots, where they wore “C.T.C Ent.” apparel, simultaneously supporting their personal efforts and the music label/group. In 2007, Big Shane was featured on over 425 mixtapes worldwide, whether they were major or minor projects you would see Big Shane in the tracklistings. Throughout the years in the music/entertainment industry, Shane has built a big name and buzz for himself not just locally, but abroad. It’s more than just music and modeling for Shane, he also does overseas promotion and booking for many major artists in the music industry around the world. With hard work and the connections he has attained, why wouldn’t he be a young successful business man?
“There are many who label themselves as rappers and hard workers, but don’t really know what it means and never take the time and effort to do things,” says Big Shane. “Most people only know what they hear and see on TV but that takes hard work and determination, that’s why I labeled myself a rapper and a musician.” From traveling overseas and state to state, Big Shane has been featured in many press articles and magazines worldwide. One of his favorite write-ups was in the Arab Times in the Middle East where he was featured with an interview, photoshoot, and also for his music accomplishments! Shane was the FIRST American musician to ever be featured in the Arab Times press, which attracted attention of many other big news companies, including CNN. So whatever he is apart of, music or business-wise, Big Shane will accomplish and work hard with many things to get the job done!
One song which is featured on his solo project, entitled “God Forgive Me”, he goes on the introspective by reflecting all the bad things in his past, hard times between him and his family, basically a letter from him to his mother, apologizing for what he has done in the past. With a catchy hook and symphonic tune, anyone who is or has gone through rough times, or have been involved in things they regretted, can relate and therefore will love the song.
Obtaining support from many major artists, music executives, A&R’s, and a variety of DJ’s worldwide, Big Shane at the young age of 20 is destined to climb the success ladder. With all his hard work, hustle, and determination who knows what the future holds for him, but one thing is for certain, he will continue to work long and hard until he is satisfied with the outcome. When you hear the name Big Shane or see the C.T.C Ent. logo in a magazine, on television, or hear the name, just know that Big Shane had something to do with it and won’t stop working hard until he has achieved his goals.

SW: What's Good Big Shane? 2008 Treating You Good So Far?
BS: Yeah man, I can't complain at all.. Its all love and support
everywhere I go.. I'm doing stuff others dreamed about, and stuff I use
to dream about haha
SW: Your a Young Gun making power moves. Tell Us More About Yourself For
Those Unfamiliar?
BS: I'm Big Shane aka "The Black Osama on mixtapes" cause I'm blowing
these dj tapes up!! People call me a metaphoric artist, some say a
punchline artist.. But I just call it skill! But on the real, I just
hustle, grind, & network daily.. If an artist can't do none of that,
then he/she is waisting time of trying to make it in the industry.
Everything I did and/or accomplished.. I did it MYSELF with no
promotions or publicist!
SW: What Single are you pushing? Is it getting radio play?
BS: Right now, I'm pushin my single Shoulda Pop, its killing the clubs
and radio right now out here in the south and the NY area. I also got a
joint with my dawg Wes Fif, that I'm thinking about going full fledge
with.. And pushing that, its called Hood Reppin. Another joint to let
people know I can still keep it real, and at the same time kill them
with the punchlines.. Its crazy! Check it out..
SW: I see your mixtape grind has a lot of oversea's influence. Is it
helping get your name out over there?
BS: Ahh yeahh homie!! Most def.!! A couple months ago, I went to Kuwait,
i did some promo schemes over there.. and within a few days of being
there I set a world record lol I was the first American artist to ever
be featured in the biggest news publishing in the middle east called
"Arab Times".. Now u can't tell me I don't grind hard!! I was
interviewed and everything, they gave me a WHOLE page lol that was
love.. So the overseas grind and fanbase is lovely and supportive.. I
also have djs based overseas that's pumping and pushing my music, so
that's getting the name out too!
SW: What projects are you working on? Albums, mixtapes, and tours?
BS: Right now, I'm doing about 6 Hostings for djs, but at the same time
I'm working on my mixtape "I hold my own" dropping real soon, my group
mixtape "The L Word" its gonna be nothing but club bangaz!! Then my
group album "New Team, New Money".. So much coming man, its gonna be
crazy!
SW: Can you let us know about some of the features you got on your up
coming mixtape?
BS: Ahh yeahh.. The features and the tracklistings are.. Mann! I can't
think of the word to explain it haha but on my solo tape I got Kiotti,
Wes Fif, Trae, Soulja Boy, Arab, ESG, Archie Lee, my CTC squad, the list
goes on. But yall gotta pick that up to see the rest!!
SW: Tell us about Ctc ent, who are the other artist you got on your
label?
BS: First off, CTC stands for Cut Tha Check Entertainment.. But for
artist, right now, its me (the ceo), my kinfolk big body, my brother
dez, and kinfolk small bills & fresh, and I just got a cold r&b artist
who goes by the name of mista roe, be on the lookout for him and my dawg
fresh.. Can't forget about my homie dj rbs, he on the team too! He rep
it to the fullest way in west virginia haha! CTC Ent. & Dynomite records
is a movement..
SW: Who influenced you growing up to Start doin music? And do you have
any advice for other up and coming artists?
BS: To be honest, I listened to all kinds of music, I never had a
favorite or an influence. Its just something I started doing one day,
then kept doing, then I started getting a lot of love, so I kept doing
it haha.. But to other artist, just grind and hustle daily as hard and
as much as you can, cause if you really want it then you will get it. It
all depends on the grind! Anything and everything is possible. Oh yeah,
and without these djs dropping mixtapes, it would be hard as hell to get
your name out, so show love and respect to these djs.. Without them, its
like not having a myspace page haha
SW: Preciate taking the time out of your day to answer a couple
questions for texasmixtapes.com. How can we get in contact with you? and
let everyone know what the #1 site for Texas HipHop is?
BS: You awready know you good homie, and I'm not hard to find at all.
