Beware! The Leopard are a electro-acoustic duo from Toronto. Labeled as “prowling, brooding and mischevious” by Emma Wilson, London UK music promoter, and “a fantastic and innovative singer-songwriter” by Daniel Joe, another London UK music promoter, Beware! The Leopard are pouncing on the public consciousness in Toronto. Beware! The Leopard will be releasing their debut EP “Cli-Che” in the fall of 2009, and are planning an extensive gig schedule to support it. They will be playing an intimate gig on September 12th at the Avant-Garde Bar in Ottawa, before officially releasing the EP in the early fall. Beware! The Leopard are Alex Leger on guitar/keys and vocals, and Mark Segger on drums. Alex formed the project in early 2008 as a solo act playing gigs in London, UK, including headlining spots at the River Cafe, the Phoenix, and the Edinburgh Cellars. Using live looping to create texture and atmosphere, Beware! The Leopard focusses on creating an emotional experience for the audience. Mark Segger joined the project in the summer of 2009. With a background in Jazz performance (Mark holds an MA in Music Performance from the University of Toronto), Mark bring a solid rhythmic foundation to the group. Beware!
