ARS MAGNA is the raw, one-of-a-kind, accumulative thought of Sacramento, CA native Breana Daugherty. A combination of divinely philosophical lyrics, soul lifting ambience, alternative neo-soul-rock and artful, sub-conscious, musical progression, ARS MAGNA truly stimulates the soul and awakens the mind.
With the debut of her first EP, Universal Acknowledgement, ARS MAGNA’s purpose behind the title is clear; her motivation is the infinite message that must be heard by every soul. With a longing to be bigger than her body, ARS MAGNA’s vendetta from June 2009 to August 2010 is to play over 150 showcases across the US with one goal in mind: the connection of one to infinity.
She first recognized her musical talent when she was unexpectedly put into a situation where she would have to play a talent show by herself; taking 3rd place had only inspired her to go for the gold the following year. She placed 1st in the following two years of her high school career which led to taking 1st in the Sacramento County Talent Show. Breana has acquired divine comfort with the stage and performing since and has played a number of venues ranging from the California State Fair to Arco Arena.
Breana is heavily influenced by the music she was raised with (i.e. Red Hot Chili Peppers, Alice in Chains, Led Zeppelin, A Perfect Circle, Tool, Rammstein, Flyleaf, Deftones, Pink Floyd, Aesop Rock, Jewel, Peter Frampton, Incubus, etc.) with a combination of life experiences and her personal connection with the whole.
Complete in this world with a dream and a will, ARS MAGNA will soon be found travelling to other countries, learning exotic instruments, singing in other languages, expanding on her music perpetually and thus spreading her ashes on eternity. That, however, is only the beginning in her vast mind and anima.
