For several years, the music industry’s elite has taken notice of Aaron LEVi for his formidable talent and songwriting prowess. Early in his career Levi won the top prize over 500 performers for an original song he performed at the famous Chicago Regal Theater which was sponsored by then R&B and hip hop station 106.3 and Chicago on air personality, the late Pink House. In 2004, Levi entered a songwriting contest hosted by NARAS and ASCAP, with more than 500 entries to sort through, Aaron LEVi took top honors for his song, Full of Fun which was one three songs featured on his The Aaron LEVi Experience EP.
Aaron LEVi’s ties to “music icons” are even more undeniable through his family connection to the late Great Music Icon, Reverend Milton Brunson (Thompson Community Choir) a staple in the Chicago gospel music community, his friendships with Samuel The Legendary Traxster Lindley (Twista, Do or Die, Psychodrama) who met while attending Emil G. Hirsch High School on Chicago’s south side, and Kanye West (Hip Hop Superstar) who met in a music store over ten years ago. “Trax took me under his wing and taught me fundamental techniques on programming, sampling, recording and engineering, and Kanye proved that greatness is in us, and great people always do great things.” Levi explains.
Aaron LEVi’s musical style is greatly influenced by the music of Prince, John Lennon, Sly Stone, Michael Jackson, and Dr. Dre, and as it pertains to the writing, producing & recording his own music, Levi quickly cites the amazing Stevie Wonder as his greatest musical inspiration. “Stevie painted love with his music, especially during the 70’s, it was incredible – it truly captivated me,” adds Aaron.
Aaron LEVi's debut album, aptly titled GOOD NEW, loaded with over 30 minutes of well written songs, is a perfect representation of the current state of Chicago’s soul/hip hop R&B music, which includes the albums first single We Ride, a hip and catchy up beat song audiences will sing-a-long to while cruising around town showing off their rides. Audiences will also hear Aaron LEV’s creative artistry in the metaphoric-laden recording Summer Time.
