Jordi Torrens
Jordi Torrens with "Cuarteto Transitorio" plays the music composed by a sideman while on tour - at hotel rooms or any other kind of freaky places at cities all over the world. It's therefore music that speaks about a certain degree of adventure and becomes at the same time a box full of letters from nostalgia. Nostalgia felt for what you already know and nostalgia imagined over what you feel as merely transitory.
Each note is about places and people that keep inviting you to split your life as in a cards game, the kind of emotions that really make you feel older and more sceptical, experiences that shake one by one all your senses.
In the long, long wait in between concerts, you take off your sideman disguise and become an observer, a tiny bit of glass in a kaleidoscope: the slightest movement changes the landscape completely.
The music of "Cuarteto Transitorio" also reflects the conviction that no matter how many times you split your game sooner or later you’ll get the card that will close that path... the essence is just starting it.
Jordi Torrens has been touring the world for many years as a sideman for Latin stars such as Moncho, Armando Manzanero, Olga Guillot, and Dyango among many others. He has also recorded and appeared at TV shows worldwide with them. He has also been active as a Jazz musician in Spain, performing all around the country and recording several solo projects with exclusively his own compositions.
Right now he’s touring Europe with Czech bassist Michal Filek, and also endorsing for Framus guitars (Frankfurt Musikmesse 206, 2007, 2008 etc. together with artists like Reggie Worthy, Mordy Ferber, Helmut Kagerer, Andreas Jaeger, Seth Horan, Peter Fischer, Jonas Hellborg etc).
