I grew up a black Catholic in white Mormon, Utah. There the people are "color blind" and don't see any color but their own. The area's idea of ethnic diversity is pointing out a brunette in a sea of blondes.
I wrote this for my ex-mother in-law who was the pinnacle of the all-seeing-yet-blind!
