The scene somewhat mimmicks a scene from "Waiting For Godot", or more perversely, the Gospels, that of the cripples and lepers, abandoned away in some shithole neighborhood, without hope, listlessly detached from reality. In the Bible, they clambor to their feet when Jesus appears, in hopes of healing. Here, they spring to life at the appearance of The Medicine Man.
