Celine Dion Teases New Material

Pop diva Celine Dion is planning to release her new album, Water And A Flame, in the coming months. To reintroduce fans to her pop sensibilities and tease what’s new, Dion has begun releasing a series of studio updates, and we have the first right here on OurStage.

Opening with a clip of herself recording a new song, Dion sings “Now you’re gone / There’s nothing else I want / Now that it’s over / There’s nothing else I want.” To say she’s still working well within her wheelhouse would be an understatement, but as the clip gives way to Dion’s discussion of the track it’s clear she is as passionate as ever. You can view the teaser below.

Water And A Flame should hit stores over summer, but may end up delayed until the fall. We’ll post a single as soon as one surfaces online. Continue reading ‘Celine Dion Teases New Material’

Man Overboard Want You “Where I Left You”

New Jersey’s Man Overboard have released a video for their new single, “Where I Left You.”

Taken from the group’s forthcoming sophomore album Heart Attack, “Where I Left You” is a modern, relationship-centric version of Sum 41′s “Fat Lip.” The band’s two vocalists swap lines about life, love, and the drama that comes from learning to balance the two, while a wall of posi-pop punk instrumentation serves as accompaniment. The chorus is simple and ready for radio, but not to the point of over the top silliness. Instead, Man Overboard have crafted one of the first great jams of the summer, and you can view the video at the end of this post.

Heart Attack will be available starting May 28. Click here to pre-order the album. Continue reading ‘Man Overboard Want You “Where I Left You”’

“H-Town” was shot in Houston, Texas over NBA All Star Weekend with help from Bun B, Trae The Truth, Truck Buck, and The Trill Gladiators. Produced by Oligee and turntable wizard and A-Trak. You can stream the video below.

The Deloreans: OurStage Artist Of The Week

Our latest Artist of the Week is The Delorians. We were captivated by this band the moment we discovered their track “Attacked By A Panther,” a track really unlike anything else we’ve heard on OurStage.

The band, out of Louisville, Kentucky, cites a wide range of influences, including but not limited to “‘classical’ music.” It’s not a surprise to see a number of ‘60s acts, from The Kinks to The Crystals, on their list. Don’t think that this is another throwback pop act, though. Their sound is indeed retro, but difficult to pin on a certain era. It’s romantic, spooky, grand, but simultaneously fuzzy and somewhat lo-fi. Yet it’s not garage rock. There are sweeping elements from the pre-rock and roll era of pop, filtered through the ‘60s and into ‘70s glam. In fact, some of their songs evoke very early Bowie, himself a student of the music-hall vocalists of the ‘40s and ‘50s. Perhaps the band has summed it up best in their one-line bio: “The Deloreans are like Sinatra in Vegas, David Lynch, and being at the beach.”

Anyway, the songs are catchy as hell, is the main thing. Check out “Attacked By A Panther” below. Continue reading ‘The Deloreans: OurStage Artist Of The Week’

The group, which features a dozen female vocalists, has yet to release a single song, but already has built a strong following based on their association with Chasez.
