I Fight Dragons Part Ways With Longtime Member

I Fight DragonsToday I Fight Dragons brought us the bittersweet news that longtime member, Bill Prokopow would be leaving the band indefinitely. Described as handling “Rock Band guitar, NES, SNES, NES advantage, NES zapper, keyboards, nintendo-control-center,” Prokopow will be leaving before IFD’s stint on this summer’s Warped Tour, to focus on his solo project, Will Post. Unfortunately this means that Prokopow will also be absent from the band’s forthcoming album, The Near Future. Check out a statement from  Prokopow below, and in the meantime, enjoy this little number to remember  him by. Continue reading ‘I Fight Dragons Part Ways With Longtime Member’

Haim Release “If I Could Change Your Mind” Music Video

2012HaimPR050412Yesterday we brought you a 22-second teaser for Haim‘s new music video, “If I Could Change Your Mind.” Truth be told, the teaser did very little to reveal the theme of the video. But looking back, the newly released music video is just as strange as the preview made it seem. There’s lots of group dancing, sultry glances through the shadows, and hair flipping. But at the end of the day, it’s still Haim, and for that we can’t help but praise it. The strangeness really grows on you. Check it out below, and catch the band on tour his spring. Continue reading ‘Haim Release “If I Could Change Your Mind” Music Video’

The Vibrant Sound Release “Gravity” Live Video

The Vibrant SoundWasn’t it just last week we were bringing you the news of The Vibrant Sound‘s concert giveaway? While the giveaway is to celebrate the unveiling of a new song at their Feb. 28 show, the band hasn’t left fans completely empty handed while we wait. In preparation for this week’s show, the band has released a new live video for “Gravity.” If you happen to be in the Provo, UT area this Friday, be one of the first to see their new song. Not in Utah? Dont worry. The band will be hitting the road with The Knux for a few dates this March. Check out the video below. Continue reading ‘The Vibrant Sound Release “Gravity” Live Video’

Air Traffic Controller Release “Pick Me Up” Music Video

Air Traffic Controller Air Traffic Controller are just plain catchy. There’s no fighting that. If you’re looking for comparisons, the pop majesty of ELO with hints of Vampire Weekend‘s Paul-Simonization of modern indie rock come to mind (their track “Pick Me Up” lifts a rhythm straight from “Graceland” to great effect). But we think that combination produces a sound that’s all ATC, and the band’s new animated video for “Pick Me Up” is just further proof. It’s not easy to do the animation/live-action combo this well, and on a budget to boot, but it works in so many ways. Check it out below, and catch the band at this year’s SXSW. Continue reading ‘Air Traffic Controller Release “Pick Me Up” Music Video’

Haim “If I Could Change Your Mind” Video Teaser

2012HaimPR050412Haim have released a 22-second teaser for their upcoming music video, “If I Could Change Your Mind,” and as vague as it is (read: we have no idea what’s happening in it) we’re pretty excited to see what the full video holds. Unfortunately, with no release date as of yet, we may have to wait a while. The video was directed by Warren Fu (Daft Punk, The Strokes, Depeche Mode) and since it’s Haim we’re talking about, we feel confident saying fans won’t be disappointed. Watch: The 1975 “Sex” Live Video

exclusive-the-1975-bed-hauntA while back, The 1975 and Vevo teamed up to record the band’s sold-out performance of “Sex” at Brixton Academy in London. The video features black and white footage and a short intro from the band, before they break into their hit. The performance may be less than five minutes long, but it’s enough to catch the impressive vibe of an obviously charismatic live show. You can check it out for yourself below, and catch the band on their North American tour this spring. Continue reading ‘Watch: The 1975 “Sex” Live Video’

Karmin Release “I Want It All” Music Video

karminKarmin have just released their new music video for “I Want It All” on VEVO, and the song has already received rave reviews from the likes of MTV Buzzworthy, who calls it an “epic disco-tinged Karmin jam you never saw coming.” We’re not sure we can top that kind of description, but we can say there is a lot of sparkle and sequence in the video, making it just as eye catching as it is dance-worthy. The single comes off the duo’s forthcoming debut full length, Pulses, which will be released on March 25 via Epic Records. Check it out below.

Vanna Sign To Pure Noise Records

vanna_2If you ask us, Vanna is having a pretty great year. In addition to being added to the 2014 Vans Warped Tour, the Boston natives have just signed with Pure Noise Records, and will be releasing their label debut this June. Speaking about the signing, Vanna said, “The entire idea of making music is to be able to share your passion your frustrations your problems with as many people as possible, that’s always been our goal as a band. In saying that we always strive to work with people who feel the same way we do. Pure Noise Records is about that exactly. After co-releasing The Few and The Far Between on vinyl last year and seeing what the record label is all about, we as a band felt that Pure Noise would be a good home for our future and a step in the direction that we wanted to take. We are honored to join the Pure Noise Records roster, full of amazing bands that are just killing it. We look forward to the future, as our musical family grows larger. Thank you for listening. I believe in you if you believe in me.”

Catch the band on Vans Warped Tour this summer, and keep an eye out for more details on their June release.

Arcade Fire Perform On ‘The Tonight Show’

arcade-fireThis week marked a few very special moments in time for The Tonight Show. For starters, it was Jimmy Fallon‘s first week hosting the show, which is pretty monumental all by itself. Second, it was packed with guest performances by some of the industry’s hottest artists, like U2, Lady Gaga, and Tim McGraw. Last night, Arcade Fire brought a little indie rock life to the show with their hit, “Afterlife.” The performance even sported a spectacular light show, courtesy of a disco ball. Check it out below.
