Clinton Sparks: The OurStage Interview Part 2

It has been just under a month since we brought you part one of our epic video interview with music extraordinaire Clinton Sparks, and today we are finally able to unveil part two.

If you recall, the first half of our feature with Clinton revolved around his history in music and how he made his way from the streets of Boston to being lowered by helicopter into a Las Vegas event branded by a company (and reputation) he built. This time around we find Clinton discussing the future, including his plans for a reality TV show, an upcoming single with Rick Ross and Macklemore, and the eventual release of My Awesome Mixtape 4. You can view the video below.

Rick Ross Targeted In Attempted Miami Shooting

Hip-hop is no stranger to violence, whether it’s in boastful lyrics, videos, or the actual past lives of emcees who’ve escaped the streets and struggles of the inner city. Sometimes, though, it gets too real. Cut to Monday morning in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, where Rick Ross barely escaped a barrage of bullets in an apparent drive-by shooting on the morning of his 37 birthday. Ross and girlfriend Shateria L. Moragne-el were reportedly on their way to a birthday breakfast when a gunman from another car opened fire on Ross’ 2011 Rolls-Royce. Ross sped away, only to quickly crash into a nearby apartment building. Though the bullets pierced the window of a nearby diner, neither Ross, nor his girlfriend, nor any of the diner patrons were injured. The night before, Ross has been celebrating his birthday with P. Diddy at the LIV nightclub in Miami. Continue reading ‘Rick Ross Targeted In Attempted Miami Shooting’

Stream Rick Ross’ “Love Sosa” (Freestyle)

Gearing up for this year’s release of their new collective MMG compilation, Maybach Music Group 2013, frontman Rick Ross and crew member Stalley have released a new freestyle of Chief Keef’s “Love Sosa.” I know it’s not popular opinion to say a freestyle outshines the original, but one listen to this remix and it seems pretty clear that Young Chop was meant to partner with MMG. Both Ross and Stalley deliver praise-worthy verses that make the overplayed beat feel fresh once more. You can stream the track below: Continue reading ‘Stream Rick Ross’ “Love Sosa” (Freestyle)’

“I Did It For My Dawgz” finds Khaled recruiting Rick Ross, Meek Mill, French Montana, Jadakiss and Ace Hood for a track about the inspiration behind the grind. The visuals are fitting, albeit as on-the-nose as possible, and can be viewed below:

Rick Ross Needs “100 Black Coffins” For ‘Django Unchained’

Quentin Tarantino’s Django Unchained may very well be for most anticipated film of the holiday season. Opening on Christmas Day, the violent throwback to Westerns follows a recently freed slave (Jamie Foxx) who joins forces with a bounty hunter to kill bad guys (ie white guys) across the prairie. The film looks incredible, and from what we’ve heard the soundtrack will be no different.

Earlier this week, MMG mastermind Rick Ross revealed he had recorded a song specifically for Django. This may seem business as usual for film and music, but it actually marks a distinct moment of change for Tarantino’s career. This is the first time the filmmaker has ever sought out original music for his films, and it’s far from whom most would likely expect. You can now stream the song, entitled “100 Black Coffins,” below:
