Machine Gun Kelly Releases “Home Soon” Video

Cleveland native Machine Gun Kelly has built a reputation out of being a self-proclaimed ‘wild boy’ but this atfternoon it’s his softer side that’s making headlines thank to a new video for his latest single, “Home Soon.”

The latest track off MGK’s Black flag mixtape to be given the single treatment, “Home Soon” is an aptly-titled track about the emcee’s longing for home when on the road. The video was shot while MGK was touring in Australia, and according to a press release sent with the video, the final cut was edited by MGK himself during his flight home. You can view the clip below.

Black Flag is available now, for free, from Live Mixtapes. MGK is reportedly working on a new studio album, but that information has yet to be confirmed. We’ll bring you more information as it becomes available. Until then, comment below and let us know your thoughts on the video. Continue reading ‘Machine Gun Kelly Releases “Home Soon” Video’

Rick Ross Debuts “No Games” Video

Hip-hop heavyweight Rick Ross has released the official video for his latest single, “No Games.”

Hitting the net a week after the Maybach Music Group compilation Self Made Vol 3 arrived in stores, “No Games” starts the push for Ross’ upcoming solo album with style. The clip features Ross performing in a high-rise hotel room in between stylized clips from the classic film Scarface, many of which focus on the protagonist’s demise. You can view the video at the end of this post.

“No Games” originally debuted at the beginning of September, but has remained largely untouched by the MMG marketing department in light of the aforementioned compilation’s impending release. Now that Self Made Vol 3 is in stores, Ross is focusing all his efforts on his album Mastermind, which is currently scheduled to arrive on shelves before the end of 2013. We’ll continue to follow the efforts of Ross in the weeks ahead, updating you as soon as new information becomes available. Continue reading ‘Rick Ross Debuts “No Games” Video’

Chief Keef Debuts “Love No Thotties”

Chicago emcee Chief Keef knows a good marketing formula when he sees it, and this morning continues his trend of releasing new material through music videos with, “Love No Thotties.”

Featuring Keef and the numerous cars he appears to own, the promotional video for “Love No Thotties” is a relatively simple affair. Keef’s fans have grown attached to the rapper through performance clips set in the midst of what seems to be his daily routing of hanging out and get high, so it stands to reason he’d deliver similar content this time around. The only difference between what’s shown here and what people saw in earlier videos like “Love Sosa” is the lifestyle Keef is sharing with viewers. It used to be about the streets he came from, but nowadays its about the materials he’s acquired as a result of his success. You can view the video below.

2013 has been a wild year for Chief Keef to say the least. He started January by entering a three-month prison sentence that put him back on the streets in time for SXSW. From there, Keef hit the road with a string of nationwide shows in between recording sessions and additional court appearances. The time in the studio has so far resulted in two mixtapes worth of material, as well as the song he premiered today. There are rumors a third mixtape will hit the net before 2014, but we cannot confirm that information at this time. Continue reading ‘Chief Keef Debuts “Love No Thotties”’

50 Cent Debuts “NY”

50 Cent has delivered a brand new anthem for the city he calls home.

Standing on a rooftop in the middle of the night with the city as his backdrop, 50 Cent takes on the persona of New York City for his new single. He talks about the city’s cold heart and how it’s only growing colder as the crime rate increases, then uses the chorus to let listeners know that the city won’t be destroyed by the antics of a few bad apples. It’s tougher than people realize, and it will swallow you alive if you aren’t careful. Click here to view the video.

For a song that was originally released as part of a free album, “NY” packs a lot of heat. The street-ready production harkens back to an earlier point in 50′s career, but the lyricism is miles ahead of anything found on Get Rich Or Die Tryin. He’s still obsessed with money, drugs, and violence, but at this point I think it’s safe to say that is exactly what 50 Cent fans want to hear.

50 Cent has spoken on occasion about releasing a new studio album, but for now seems content to deliver free content to fans whenever the mood strikes him. We certainly aren’t complaining about this decision, and will keep our eyes peeled for future developments as they arise. Comment below and let us know your thoughts on “NY.” Continue reading ’50 Cent Debuts “NY”’

Danny Brown Releases ‘Old’ Album Trailer

Detroit native Danny Brown has released a trailer for his highly-anticipated debut album, Old.

Brown has already built himself a rep. He’s a troublemaker with a fondness for drugs and a heart of gold, building a fun-loving brand in the world of hip-hop. But in the trailer for Old, there are essentially no lighthearted moments. Brown showcases his Detroit neighborhood, including the homes of friends and neighbors, and the dilapidated buildings that are littered throughout the once thriving city. It’s simple and powerful, and sets up Old as an effort produced by a more mature Danny Brown than what fans heard on XXX. You can view the clip below.

Old arrives in stores September 30, which is just in time for Brown’s fall co-headlining tour with Action Bronson. Click here to view the full tour itinerary. Continue reading ‘Danny Brown Releases ‘Old’ Album Trailer’

Nelly And T.I. Collaborate On “Rick James”

Rick James may no longer be with us, but the legend of his smooth moves with ladies lives on today thanks to a new single from Nelly and T.I.

Featuring a thick, funky bass line as its backbone, “Rick James” found its way online this morning thanks to our friends at HipHopDX. The track brings together Nelly and T.I. for a celebration the good life, with bottles in the air and dancing on the tables. The verses don’t hold much weight, but the hook won’t let up. You can stream the song below.

And of course the man who owns all modern Rick James references, Dave Chappelle, gets a sample, delivering his famous “I’m rich, bitch” before the chorus.

“Rick James” could easily make it at commercial radio. It falls in line between Justin Timberlake‘s “Take Back The Night” and Robin Thicke‘s “Blurred Lines,” but is unique enough to stand on its own merit. Comment below and let us know your thoughts. Drake Streams “Wu-Tang Forever”

Young Money heartthrob Drake continues to build anticipation for his upcoming album this morning with the release of new song entitled “Wu-Tang Forever.”

If Donnie And Marie were “a little bit country and a little bit rock and roll,” Drake’s style can be summarized as a little bit rap and a little bit R&B. He’s built a brand on the ability to combine these two influences, and on “Wu-Tang Forever,” he showcases the latest evolution of that successful recipe. You can stream the song below.

Drake has released three singles to date from the forthcoming LP Nothing Was The Same, and of those three, “Wu-Tang Forever” seems the most likely to find traction at radio. “Started From The Bottom” was a hit, but not on the same level as previous Drake singles. This sounds like classic Drake, so it will be interesting to see how fans react when it gets the full promotional push.

Nothing Was The Same hits stores September 24. Comment below and let us know your thoughts on the new material. Continue reading ‘Drake Streams “Wu-Tang Forever”’

2 Chainz Releases “Where U Been” Video

G.O.O.D. Music member 2 Chainz has released the official video for his latest B.O.A.T.S 2: Me Time single, “Where U Been.”

2 Chainz is an artist many people continue to have a love/hate relationship with. He’s often on the cusp of delivering something great, working frequently with talented collaborators, but from time to time he delivers tracks so lyrically mindless that it’s hard to appreciate the sonic depth of the track. “Where U Been” comes dangerously close to this territory, but once the hook kicks in its hard to find anything worth griping about.

B.O.A.T.S. 2: Me Time hit stores earlier this week. Check out the clip for “Where U Been” below. Continue reading ’2 Chainz Releases “Where U Been” Video’

Sean Kingston Debuts “Seasonal Love”

Sean Kingston burst onto the music scene in the mid-2000s with the inescapable pop smash “Beautiful Girls.” The song went on to be one of the biggest hits of 2007, which in turned made Kingston a household name, but a sudden jet ski accident in 2011 nearly ended his career (and life). Now he’s finally ready to return to the pop world, and earlier today release a new music video for his single “Seasonal Love.”

Featuring outdoor performance footage, imagery from a strip club, and a model that may set your monitor ablaze, the later visuals from Kingston reintroduce the vocalist as grown man with money to spare. Viewers watch as Sean attempts to woo the girl of his dreams, only to later learn he love is far more conditional than he original thought. Drama ensues, and without spoiling the twist someone soon learns that no amount of money can cover the pain of unrequited love.

People change in time, and since the days “Beautiful Girls” Sean Kingston has evolved into more of an R&B artist than top 40 pop. The results of this change is the sensual and often sexually charged “Seasonal Love,” which features a sizzling verse from Maybach Music Group member Wale. It’s not the kind of song you expect to see topping the radio charts, but it’s sure to gain enough traction to help Kingston step back into the urban music arena. Comment below and let us know your thoughts on his new material. Continue reading ‘Sean Kingston Debuts “Seasonal Love”’

Eminem Releases “Berzerk” Video

Eminem has a long history of releasing music videos that offer unique and often hilarious visual accompaniments for his generally vicious wordplay. His early work featured a number of parodies of subjects ranging from movies to celebrities, and now it’s our obsession with technology that seems to have caught Em’s eye.

Enter “Berzerk.” Debuting online shortly after the Video Music Awards, the first single off Eminem’s Marshall Mathers LP 2 harkens back to the aggressive delivery that caught the attention of frequent collaborator Dr. Dre in the late ’90s. The official video arrived online yesterday, and fittingly features footage that looks as if it were filmed on VHS. The clip shows grainy images of Em roaming the streets of Detroit and performing in front of an elaborate Beats By Dre ad, along with various familiar faces spliced between archival footage meant to evoke the high energy feel of the music, and finally some obvious nods to the Beastie Boys. It’s odd, somewhat hilarious, and at time downright weird, but is nevertheless completely enjoyable throughout. You can view the clip below.

We know more music from The Marshall Mathers LP 2 will be available before the album’s November release, but at this time no additional information is available. Comment below and let us know your thoughts on “Berzerk.” Continue reading ‘Eminem Releases “Berzerk” Video’
