The 1975 “Settle Down” Live Performance

exclusive-the-1975-bed-hauntAfter dropping their mysterious new music video for “Settle Down” last week, we had a tough time believing The 1975 could top that kind of audio/visual pairing. But after checking out their new professionally captured live video for the track, we’re pretty happy to be proven wrong. True to the band’s aesthetic (i.e. black and white), the video documents the band having, by all accounts, the time of their lives as they play to an adoring audience.  If this is in any way an accurate representation of their live shows, then I’ve been missing out. You can check out the video below, and catch the band on their US and UK tour this February through June.  Continue reading ‘The 1975 “Settle Down” Live Performance’

The Used, Taking Back Sunday Expand North American Tour Dates

The Used - Frank Maddocks - High ResJust one week ago we brought you the news that The Used and Taking Back Sunday would be co-headlining a tour together this spring, with Tonight Alive and Sleepwave as support. But with only one date each in Los Angeles and New York City, it’s no surprise the shows sold out within hours. As a result, the tour has been expanded to include an extra date in each city. The second Los Angeles date will take place on March 19 at the Palladium, and New York City’s second show will be held on April 21 at the Best Buy Theater. Tickets go on sale today, Feb. 7, at 10 a.m. PST and 12 p.m. EST. So get those trigger fingers ready and secure your spot on the tour. Check out the full routing below.  Continue reading ‘The Used, Taking Back Sunday Expand North American Tour Dates’

Foster The People Release “Coming Of Age” Music Video

Foster the PeopleFoster The People have been making a lot of waves with their recent comeback. Not only did they create a massive mural in downtown LA (based on the cover art for their sophomore release, Supermodel), but they’ve also been announced as headliners for many an upcoming festival. On top of that, they have a headlining tour of their own in the works. Now, the band has released a new music video for their single, “Coming of Age,” comprised of teenage flashbacks and an ’80s vibe that would make John Hughes blush. Check it out below. Continue reading ‘Foster The People Release “Coming Of Age” Music Video’

Fearless Records Announces ‘Punk Goes 90s’ Volume 2 Track List

Fearless RecordsThe hugely popular Fearless Records compilation is back. Last month the label teased fans with the news of a second volume of Punk Goes 90s, and today we finally have all the details. The track list will include songs by classic ’90s bands such as Foo Fighters, Smash Mouth, and Green Day, being covered by acts like Yellowcard, Memphis May Fire, Falling In Reverse, and Mayday Parade.

We’re a little wary of the idea of Yellowcard covering The Smashing Pumpkins or Chunk! No, Captain Chunk! taking on Smash Mouth’s “All Star,” but hope we’re proven wrong. You can check it out yourself when the album drops on April 1st, and view the full track list and Get Scared‘s cover of “My Own Worst Enemy” below. Warped Tour Announces Real Friends, Motionless In White, And More

Warped Tour 2014One thing fans of Warped Tour seem to have a love/hate relationship with is the diversity of acts on the tour. In one corner, pop-punk rules; in another, metal prevails… and tucked away in another, we find ska, reggae, or even the acoustic tent. Say what you will, but the diversity does add a certain level of mystique, especially when trying to guess who the new additions will be. Fuse TV ended the suspense on last night’s episode of Warped Roadies by announcing another diverse mix that includes Real Friends, Motionless In White, The Word Alive, The Wild Life, and Courage My Love. Check out previously announced bands along with the new routing below. Continue reading ‘Warped Tour Announces Real Friends, Motionless In White, And More’

Hawthorne Heights Announce Anniversary Tour

hawthorne heights 2I still remember my days as a roller skating ref, circling around the floor over and over, hearing Hawthorne Heights‘ breakout track “Ohio is for Lovers” during every session and trying to understand what they were even saying. Now, 10 years after the release of that debut album, The Silence In Black and White, the band has announced a world tour. The initial stops are in Dublin, Glasgow, Berlin, Munich, and Rome among others, with many dates still holding that taunting “TBA” placeholder. Check out the dates below.  Continue reading ‘Hawthorne Heights Announce Anniversary Tour’

Watch Minor Alps’ New Video, “Waiting For You”

Minor Alps is the collaboration between Juliana Hatfield and Nada Surf‘s Matthew Caws, and for some reason that was not enough to make me rush to listen as soon as it became available, fool that I am. The music they’ve made together is everything you might hope for, with their complimentary voices providing airy harmonies throughout simply great songs.

They’ve just released a new video for the song “Waiting For You.” Directed by Emilie and Sarah Barbault, and filmed in Paris, the video follows a man and a woman wandering the same spots, but continually missing each other.

Check out the video below, and look for the full album Get There, available now.

The Cure Announce New Album, Tour, Live DVD

The CureI can’t even believe I’m about to write this, but The Cure are making an incredible comeback this year, and I couldn’t be more excited. The band will release their 14th studio album, tentatively titled 4:14 Scream late this year, embark on a world tour which will see the band perform three albums in full, and release a few live DVDs for good measure. Among the albums performed on their world tour will be 1984′s The Top, 1985′s The Head on the Door, and 1987′s Kiss Me, Kiss Me, Kiss Me. Though an album release date and tour dates have yet to be announced, the band will be playing the Teenage Cancer Trust benefit concerts at London’s Royal Albert Hall on March 28 and 29.
