After recently announcing that they would reunite for their 2012 Unity Tour, the Jacksons have revealed that they are now planning to record a new studio album- the first since their 1989 record 2300 Jackson Street.
“That’s what we gotta do — right after the tour,” says Jackie Jackson. “We’re gonna go back into the studio and start recording some new music.” Together with his brothers Tito, Marlon and Jermaine, the group plans to travel across America this summer to perform their greatest hits, as well as pay tribute to their late brother Michael Jackson. As for the new album, Jackie says he wishes to stay true to the old Jackson 5 sound, with a little bit of a modern twist. “We’re gonna keep it simple… We can’t shy away from our sound.”
