Lau Miranda’s Young and Modern Latin Pop

OSBlog_WeeklyRhythm_MASTERLau Miranda has enjoyed a lot of attention during her young life. Not even 20-years- old, Lau has opened for the Black Eyed Peas, participated in Telemundo’s show Quinceañera, and performed at the LA L.I.V.E. Nokia Theatre; one of the city’s most prominent venues. On OurStage, she’s managed two Number 1 spots in the Latin Channel, and two Top 10 finishes. That’s nothing to sneeze at.

The music is hard not to love. It’s easy to get it stuck in your head and hard to get it out. Tracks range from upbeat yet bittersweet songs about love lost (think Juanes style, in Lau’s song “Te Di Tanto”), to catchy R&B tracks sung mostly in English like “Don’t Want You To Know.” Even when the subject matter brings up sad feelings, you’ll never catch Lau without a smile on her face. Yes, even on her cover art for “Ya No Te Quiero,” (”I don’t love you anymore.”)

Lau has always loved being in the spotlight. Between the ages of 2 and 10 she ice skated, and even took home numerous competitive awards. She only started to sing when the skates came off, as part of numerous school groups, and ultimately entered her first singing contest in 2005. In the last four years things have really taken off. Be sure to catch Lau with her band Fusion around Los Angeles.
