TIN ROOF RUSTED: THE B-52’s BOOGIE DOWN IN BOSTON

The B-52\

The B-52′s in Boston: (L to R: Keith Strickland, Kate Pierson, Cindy Wilson, and Fred Schneider)

On Saturday, May 16th, Georgian rock legends, The B-52′s, paid a visit to Boston’s House of Blues. Founding members Fred, Kate, Cindy, and Keith flawlessly played such classics as “Private Idaho”, “Give Me Back My Man”, “Love Shack” and “Party Out of Bounds” to an eager audience and proved that time hasn’t gotten the best of them yet. The group also played a few tracks off their latest release Funplex (Astralwerks), including “Juliet of the Spirits”, which was generally well received by the all ages crowd.

My personal highlight? Well, I almost fell over the balcony doing the swim as front man Fred Schneider jammed on the cowbell during “Rock Lobster.” If you haven’t gotten around to seeing them yet, I highly recommend catching a show this summer.

If you dig the sounds of The B-52′s be sure to check out some tracks from these OurStage artists:
