Tonisha Hampton-Watts, better known in music circles as “F Lady T”, began her passage to music crate digging and dabbling with the piano and guitar as a kid. Countless hours of sitting in on her father’s band sessions stoked a major passion to share and make music. A hopeless audiophile, she began creating mixtapes, also enjoying a stint as a DJ in college in 1990. The next phases of her music tour; as a musician/songwriter/producer, came into full circle as she discovered the beauty of electronic music, a genre closest to her heart. Robert “MOG” Watts started his musical journey playing the drums in church. As Hip-Hop entered in it’s baby stages, he began sampling and fashioning new works of Hip-Hop art by “bouncing tracks” with a double cassette player. From there music took him to learning the upright bass and the complexity of the tuba (sousaphone). Throughout his college years, he worked with various Virginia and Ohio Hip-Hop up-and-comers, performing at the Afram Musicfest in Norfolk, VA and the Ohio Gospel Music Workshop. He has been published since 1989 as a musician, singer-songwriter and producer. Also having the compliment of one of his Hip-Hop tracks being used by a local news station. SynergE Music Group came together as the roads of MOG and F Lady T crossed. With both standing at the precipice of honing their vision and crafts. Classically trained and not-so-classically trained, they put together their collective talents and formed not only a family, but an idea of what music can and should sound like… new, fresh and audibly stimulating--No boundaries set upon it, no prejudges about what was "real music" or not, just composition of sound. They continue to work with local artists (some dripping with talent) assisting them with discovery, but at the same time discovering where the music might guide them as a team.
