Sometimes a fresh start is just what you need to get things back on track. That is exactly what the members of Clear For Takeoff accomplished following the break-up of their previous bands. The group formed during the summer of 2009, when lead singers Brendan Biondi and Marc LaMartina first met and began collaborating. The two front-men not only shared common ground creatively but also found they imbedded similar values and messages into their songwriting. “Everything that we sing about is derived from our own personal experiences which we inject into our lyrics and melodies,” says LaMartina. The musical chemistry between both vocalists is obvious and has become a focal point of their live show: “Our emphasis on vocal harmonies is not only a way for us to differentiate ourselves from other bands within the genre, but is also a testament to the friendship that Marc and I have developed as we continue to work together,” Biondi acknowledges. Within six months of forming, the group enlisted the producing talents of Greg Parker and Kory Gable as they recorded their first full-length album, “Wake The City” (release date: June, 2010). Three months later, their song "Rockaby in E-Flat" earned a slot in Hollister Co.'s Fall 2010 worldwide playlist and "The Drive Home" was featured on Microsoft’s Zune Marketplace. The group's latest splash was a memorable performance at Virgin Mobile FreeFest 2011, which drew a record 50,000 attendees and showcased a multitude of national artists such as Cee Lo Green, The Black Keys, and deadmau5. While the band has undoubtedly seen its share of success over the past two years, the quartet firmly believes that this is only the beginning. Listeners are urged to be on the lookout for new music within the coming months given that the group is currently working hard on their sophomore album with platinum-selling record producer Rob Freeman (Gym Class Heroes, Cobra Starship, Hit The Lights). As they continue to turn heads across the country, it's certain that they are molding themselves into a polished, mature group that is eager for the next step.
