This song is about reclaiming one's independence. It's when you've got your life in your own hands, and are being thrust into this whole new world. This world you enter is nothing familiar, and it has brought you to your knees. It's beginning to drown you, but through perseverance and some confidence you decide to conquer it. You question it's authority over you, and in this you take your life back. It's a standoff against reality, because you will NOT be controlled.
